Author Quyet submitted the following work to the "Happy Vietnam 2025" competition: "National Children's Hospital develops specialized liver transplantation techniques for pediatric patients." Location of creation: Lang Ward, Hanoi , Vietnam.

The surgical team removed a portion of the donor's liver.
Introduction: Pediatric liver transplantation is one of the most challenging organ transplant techniques, requiring stringent professional and technical expertise. Recently, the National Children's Hospital successfully performed its 74th pediatric liver transplant, offering a chance of survival to a 30-month-old patient with end-stage liver disease due to congenital biliary atresia. The liver donor was the patient's grandmother. In the future, the hospital will continue to focus on developing advanced and specialized techniques to strive to bring life to children with critical liver and biliary diseases in particular, and to provide the best healthcare solutions for Vietnamese children in general.

The liver was harvested from a donor who was preparing to donate it to a pediatric patient.

The doctor performs liver lavage immediately after removing it from the donor.

Associate Professor Pham Duy Hien, Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital, directly performed the liver transplant on the 30-month-old child.
