According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, agriculture plays a pivotal role in food security, the livelihoods of over 60% of the rural population, and contributes over 15% to GDP. In 2025, the agricultural sector is expected to maintain positive growth, with the total value added of the sector increasing by 3.74% in the third quarter of 2025; and export turnover reaching over US$64 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, a 12.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

Over the past period, the Government has issued many strategic policies to realize the commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, including the National Climate Change Strategy, the Green Growth Strategy, the Decree on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon market, and the Plan for implementing the Paris Agreement. In particular, in 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment approved the Project on reducing emissions in crop production for the period 2025-2035, creating an important foundation for green transition, standardizing farming processes, applying technology, and promoting integration into the carbon market.

Ms. Beverley Postma, CEO of Grow Asia, emphasized Vietnam's role as a model for public-private partnerships within ASEAN, and pledged to support PSAV in promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and regional linkages in the green agricultural transformation process.
