The event was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Indochina College of Fine Arts (1925-2025), to honor the legacy of painter Nam Son, who, together with Victor Tardieu, laid the foundation for modern Vietnamese art.

The book series “Nam Son (1899–1973), Indochina Fine Arts Heritage through documents, archives and press”
The exhibition "Nam Son Memories" runs until November 2, bringing together for the first time 10 representative works of artist Nam Son currently in Vietnam. The works demonstrate outstanding diversity in techniques, from oil painting, unique seven-color wood carving, to red chalk, charcoal and watercolor. The highlight is the Still Life of Tomatoes, Lettuce and Eel-skin Bowl (1923), an oil painting created before the establishment of the Indochina College of Fine Arts, demonstrating Nam Son's pioneering vision in blending Eastern and Western aesthetics.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Ngo Kim Khoi, author of the book series and grandson of artist Nam Son, said: “This is the first time these works, especially the Still Life of Tomatoes, Lettuce and Eel Skin Bowl , have been gathered in Vietnam. Bringing them here is like completing a cycle of memories, so that the domestic public can clearly see his true legacy.”
Also at the exhibition was the introduction of the book series Nam Son (1899 - 1973), Indochina Fine Arts Heritage through documents, archives and press . The work is the crystallization of 25 years of research by author Ngo Kim Khoi. The book series consists of 2 volumes, 998 pages and more than 600 documentary images, this is considered a massive research work, opening up an academic perspective on the role of painter Nam Son in Vietnamese painting, the book is published by Fine Arts Publishing House.
