Lao Cai won first prize overall at the 2025 Northern Mountain Region Art Photography Festival.

Participating in the 24th Northern Mountain Region Art Photography Festival in 2025, the Lao Cai delegation excellently won first prize overall, becoming one of the localities with the most outstanding achievements at the festival.

On the morning of December 12th, in Cao Bang province, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, in collaboration with the Cao Bang Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, held the opening ceremony of the 24th Northern Mountain Region Art Photography Festival 2025, with the theme "The Beauty - Land and People of the Northern Mountain Region".

This year's festival attracted 254 authors from 9 provinces and cities in the region, with 1,753 entries. According to the organizers, the entries were of consistent quality, reflecting the rich contemporary life in the northern mountainous region.

Many photo collections and moments capture the beauty of nature, people, and customs; while also reflecting areas of socio-economic development, rural development, preservation of national cultural identity, and protection of border sovereignty .

At the festival, the Lao Cai delegation achieved outstanding results, specifically: winning the team award (first place overall) with a gold medal for the photo series " Exploring and Conquering Ta Xua" by author Tran Trung Hieu.

Silver medals were awarded to the works "Integration with the World" by Thanh Mien and "Choan Then Ancient Village in the Clouds" by Nguyen Duy Hoang.

Honorable Mention: “Effective mass mobilization contributes to protecting security and order in border areas” by author Nguyen Duy Hoang; “Fermenting rice wine with leaf yeast” by author Pham Pa Ri. Along with 32 works on display at the exhibition by 23 authors.
