Vietnam Talent Awards 2025: 20-year journey to honor Vietnamese intelligence

On the evening of October 27, the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025 officially took place, not only honoring outstanding individuals and groups but also symbolizing the intelligence, creativity and aspiration of Vietnam - a gathering place for people who are contributing to the journey of building a strong, prosperous and self-reliant Vietnam in the digital age.

The Vietnam Talent Award was initiated in 2004, jointly organized by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) with the initial goal of discovering and honoring talents in the field of information technology in Vietnam. After 20 years of operation with 18 awards, the Award has discovered and honored hundreds of talents in many different fields, with works, scientific and technological products that are creatively applied in real life, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

In 2025, in the context of the entire Party and people implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, the 18th Vietnam Talent Awards continues to strongly innovate in content and organization, aiming to discover and honor talents associated with three pillars: science - technology - innovation.

Attending and delivering a speech at the Award ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that the Vietnam Talent Award has marked two decades of formation and development, becoming one of the prestigious awards in the fields of science - technology, education and learning encouragement in Vietnam. From the initial goal of searching for and honoring talents in the Information Technology industry, the Award has continuously expanded its scope, comprehensively reflecting the pillars of sustainable development of the country. Thereby, the Award has contributed to discovering, encouraging and spreading creative values in the community, especially the team of intellectuals, scientists and creative workers across the country.

According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, over the past 20 years, the "Vietnamese Talents" Award ceremonies have connected into a series of events on creative research and application of research results to life. Participating in this event are many individuals and groups, with more than 7,200 people, including professional and non-professional scientists, Vietnamese people living and working in the country and abroad, professors, doctors, farmers, and rural workers. The most common characteristic is that all the awardees study regularly, work hard, study for real, take real exams, have real talent, combine study with practice, conduct scientific research and create new knowledge right in the production process, taking serving people's lives as the purpose of their activities.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed this year's award organizing committee's choice of the theme "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology", aiming to promote core technology application solutions such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, internet of things, quantum computing, contributing directly to the construction of digital economy, digital society, ensuring data safety, network security, enhancing national governance capacity and improving service quality for people and businesses.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly commended the collectives and individuals who have made outstanding scientific works, which have been honored and awarded noble prizes today. These are truly "Learning Citizens" and "Learning Units" that represent the spirit of dedicated work, creativity and intellectual depth of our Vietnamese people.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, to have products participating in the award, the authors have worked hard to research and study regularly to enrich their knowledge, in order to implement the policy of economic development by knowledge and intelligence through successful scientific research products, widely and effectively applied in all areas of socio-economic life and people's health care. This is the right way to help the country develop quickly and sustainably, as affirmed by Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and accepted and implemented by scientists. The award has been, is, and will become a wide playground for scientists and farmers who are passionate about creative research. Many award-winning works have reached out and been affirmed in the international market, and will certainly develop in the future.

It is known that the award fields are restructured in line with the national development orientation including: Digital Technology, Medicine, Creative Youth, Encouragement of Learning - Self-study to become successful and Dedication. Digital Technology - The Heart of the Vietnam Talent Awards

This year's Digital Technology field has the theme: "AI and Big Data - Breakthrough Technology" to promote the application of core technologies such as AI, Big Data, Blockchain, Cloud, IoT, Quantum Computing... into management, production and life practices. The award encourages highly applicable products, serving the Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society, ensuring data security, network security, contributing to improving management capacity and service quality for people and businesses.

The year 2025 recorded 168 entries in the Digital Technology field - a number that demonstrates the strong attraction and increasing prestige of the Vietnam Talent Award. After the Preliminary round, the 17 best products were selected by the Jury to enter the Final round and had a dramatic, intellectual and creative live defense before the Final Round Council on October 25, 2025 to find the most worthy faces for the Vietnam Talent Cup 2025.

This year, the Digital Technology field is particularly vibrant, attracting many products from young authors aged 16-30, including many high school students, university students and Vietnamese technology startups. The participation of young people shows that the Award has become a source of inspiration and a launching pad for a new generation of creators, while also reflecting the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that is spreading strongly in the Vietnamese technology community.

Although the First Prize was not awarded to the Digital Technology category, according to Mr. Nguyen Long - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Information Technology Association, a member of the Jury of the Vietnam Talent Awards in the Digital Technology category, AI and big data are considered the "heart" of most of the products participating in the 2025 Vietnam Talent Awards. In the current trend of integrating and applying AI in Vietnam, it seems that the products are still quite "unsteady" with the "dizzying" changes and power of the global AI giants. However, the most outstanding products honored today are still very worthy.

- The KIMQ edge-processing AIoT computing platform - authored by HSPTek Joint Stock Company, is built on an advanced hardware and software architecture, based on Qualcomm chipsets, with the ability to process AI at the edge up to 100 TOPS (1 TOPS = trillion calculations per second). One of the breakthroughs of the product is the CoM (Computer-on-Module) module design standard. With an ultra-small size of only 40x47mm, this module standard allows easy disassembly, upgrade and integration into different systems, helping customers save development costs and limit risks when mass-producing products. In particular, the close cooperation between HSPTek and chip manufacturer Qualcomm has ensured that the product meets international quality standards, has wide applicability and minimizes security risks compared to imported solutions.

- New generation telecommunications network terminal ecosystem XGS-PON Wi-Fi7 - Author group: Post and Telecommunications Industry Technology Joint Stock Company: The research project was launched in September 2023, with a team of 15 specialized engineers. After one year, VNPT Technology completed the XSW050-Q version - the first XGS-PON Wi-Fi 7 ONT device in Vietnam, belonging to the high-end segment, supporting tri-band Wi-Fi 7 (2.4GHz + 5GHz + 6GHz) and integrating Edge AI. This device was launched in collaboration with Qualcomm at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese technology on the world telecommunications map. The product is a specialized IoT system for monitoring and early warning of natural disaster risks as well as construction safety.

- Phishing website identification tool using artificial intelligence - Author group: Anti-phishing Company: This is a tool built to contribute to protecting and bringing advantages to the community and many large organizations in the world. Phishing is changing very quickly and cannot prevent 100% of fraud, but the phishing website identification tool tries to minimize damage, detect fake websites as soon as possible, create quick solutions, analyze quickly, and protect users as quickly as possible.

The inspiration to build and deploy the Clauto Smart Learning Support System comes from the reality of the classroom: looking at the faces of students working hard but still not finding an effective way to study, the question arises: “Is it possible to use technology to turn learning into a more interesting and personalized journey?”. And the answer is the combination of artificial intelligence, learning data and understanding the needs of learners.

Special areas of honor at the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025

• Dedication Award: Launched for the first time, honoring scientists, experts, and veteran teachers who have devoted their lives to research and training, leaving behind a lasting legacy of knowledge for the country.

• Medical Award: Honors outstanding research projects that have been applied in practice, achieving new achievements in the Vietnamese medical industry, bringing very practical results in the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.

• Creative Youth Award: For outstanding young scientists selected by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, representing the new generation who dare to think, dare to do, and contribute to the community.
