At around 6:30 p.m. on October 29, Le Thanh apartment building (An Duong Vuong street, An Lac ward, Ho Chi Minh City) suddenly had thick smoke coming out from block B2 of this building, hundreds of residents fled to other blocks to escape the fire area.

According to residents, smoke came from the electrical engineering room of a floor in block B2, then spread to other floors. Upon receiving the fire alarm, security forces and residents used fire extinguishers to control the fire immediately. However, the fire caused all 4 blocks of Le Thanh apartment building to lose power completely, many people while moving had symptoms of difficulty breathing and dizziness when inhaling this gas.

Notably, many elevator users said that before the fire news came from the apartment building’s Zalo chat group, people using the elevator showed signs of flickering. Among them, 3 people were stuck in the elevator and had to ask security to help them get out.
