As one of the 17 author groups with the best digital technology products that entered the Final round and then won the Second Prize at the Vietnam Talent Awards 2025, Mr. Doan Trung Duc - Project leader of the Multi-Target Remote Sensing Database System - VNPT iSAT felt extremely honored and proud that all the efforts and endeavors of the whole group were recognized, especially in an award with a brand name of 2 decades like Vietnam Talent Awards. Together with the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Talent Awards, let's record the feelings of the author group leader of VNPT iSAT.

- What were the group's first feelings when winning the Vietnam Talent 2025 award?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc : The team feels very proud and honored to be part of the Final Jury and win the Second Prize at the Vietnam Talent Award 2025. All team members have carefully prepared to complete the defense content in the Final Jury round and today standing on stage to receive the award is a strong impression in the minds of the team members. We had high expectations that VNPT iSAT would win the Vietnam Talent Award 2025, this is an extremely big step forward for the product because Vietnam Talent is a leading prestigious award in the field of science and technology, a solid foundation for VNPT iSAT to be able to develop strongly in the future and reach out to more customers nationwide. The goal of VNPT iSAT is the 'one warehouse - many industries' approach, supporting the solution of multi-industry, multi-field management and monitoring problems on a large scale, creating problems with high applicability, close to practical needs.

- What reality has motivated you to choose this product to compete at Vietnam Talent 2025? Why do you believe it is worth pursuing compared to many other directions?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc : Based on the practical needs in the management and monitoring of land use changes, monitoring of constructions and assets on land at Ward/Commune People's Committees, practice shows that monitoring of land, resources and environment on a large scale is facing many difficulties, planning data and current status are managed in a fragmented manner, human resources in the area are still thin, from there the application of high technologies such as remote sensing and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) in management is an inevitable need.

We built VNPT iSAT to approach the problem from the root: building a centralized - multi-objective data warehouse, standardizing and indexing by space - time, ready to connect to existing systems and expand scale. We believe that VNPT iSAT has the ability to expand strongly in the future, on the basis of a centralized unified data warehouse, mastering GeoAI algorithm models, after the problem of monitoring land use and works, assets on land, the development team will continue to develop other multi-field monitoring problems: Monitoring forest changes, environmental monitoring, agricultural monitoring, natural disaster warning,... The goal is to improve the efficiency of monitoring resources - environment, controlling pollution and degradation, responding to climate change, contributing to serving management and operation nationwide.

- Can you share any memories or moments in your product making journey that you remember the most?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc: During the product development process, the development team also faced many challenges because VNPT iSAT is a new product, highly specialized, applying new technologies and there is no similar product in Vietnam. However, the team members also made efforts to research and complete product development in a short time. During field survey trips and direct product introductions in wards/communes, we received comments on the necessary needs and wishes to soon deploy the VNPT iSAT system to serve the problem of land use management and monitoring in the area. These are very memorable memories, contributing to creating motivation and confidence for the team to complete product development to serve the practical needs of society.

- During the process of building the product, what challenges and difficulties did the team have to overcome? How did you handle these difficulties and challenges?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc: In the process of developing VNPT iSAT, the biggest challenge comes from the dispersion of data, the requirement for large-scale processing speed, thick cloud conditions/lack of details in each location, and the problem of security - decentralization - operating costs when deploying on a large scale.

We take a platform-driven approach: standardizing and integrating data into a centralized repository, optimizing processes to shorten the time from management need to answer, and incorporating geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) and field verification where necessary to increase accuracy.

In addition, the team also regularly listens, improves user experience, trains - transfers close to reality, and listens to feedback continuously. Therefore, in the future, we hope to develop VNPT iSAT step by step to complete the platform ready to serve management and operation problems in many different fields.

- Compared to similar products and solutions already on the market, what do you think is the biggest difference in the VNPT iSAT product? And what is the "key" factor that helped the product win over the Award's Jury?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc: The biggest difference of VNPT iSAT is a remote sensing data infrastructure localized for Vietnam, not only stopping at providing images, VNPT iSAT integrates multi-source data (satellites, UAVs, radar, lidar; both free and commercial, other GIS map data) into a centralized warehouse according to open standards, ready to connect to existing systems.

Based on unified data, we complete the upgrade and development of applications serving management tasks from land use monitoring, construction monitoring, assets on land, monitoring forest area fluctuations, early warning of forest fires, environmental monitoring, crop growth monitoring, early warning of natural disasters, etc.

In fact, in Vietnam, there is currently no similar product, and international platforms are too expensive and the decoding key set is not standardized for Vietnam's geographical conditions, so it is difficult to achieve efficiency when operating. VNPT iSAT's approach not only reduces duplication costs but also ensures availability and scalability nationwide.

During the product development process, we regularly participate in on-site surveys and adjust the system's functions closely to customer needs, ensuring the feasibility and success of the product in meeting the customer's wishes and actual implementation needs.

- Being honored at the Vietnam Talent Awards this time, what significance will this award have for your product's development in the future?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc : Being honored at the Vietnam Talent Awards this time will be a certificate of special importance to us, affirming the capacity and great development prospects of VNPT iSAT in the future, while creating a premise and solid foundation to help VNPT iSAT products be ready to develop, expand and deploy widely for customers.

In addition, the prestige of the Award helps us strengthen connections with partners, promote promotion, expand product business capabilities, perfect centralized localized data warehouses to the local level, and perfect appropriate settings according to reality to serve a variety of monitoring problems in various fields.

- Can you share the group's next steps in the near future?

Mr. Doan Trung Duc: In the coming period, we will continue to focus on developing and expanding VNPT iSAT to become a centralized remote sensing data platform serving multi-objective, multi-sector, multi-field management and operations nationwide. The focus is on expanding data sources, standardizing to the local level and integrating GeoAI to quickly convert information from satellite images into usable information for practical problems.

VNPT iSAT aims to support ministries, sectors and localities in essential areas such as natural resources and environment, agriculture and food security, fisheries, transport and infrastructure, natural disaster prevention and response to climate change. We are determined to achieve one goal: shorten the time from management needs to action responses, ensure openness to connect existing systems, and be ready to expand the scale of deployment. We believe that with this approach, VNPT iSAT can create practical value, contributing positively to the country's sustainable development goals.
