On the morning of October 31, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi inspected the landslide situation at D'Ran Pass on National Highway 20, in Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong).

Previously, due to the impact of heavy rains, on the evening of October 28, on National Highway 20, at section Km262+400 - Km262+530 (D'Ran Pass suspension bridge area), there was a landslide on the positive slope and damage to the road infrastructure.

The landslide was about 10 meters long. Due to the landslide, a large amount of rock, soil, and fallen trees spilled onto the road, causing serious traffic obstruction.
Cracks appeared on the roadbed, about 2-10cm wide, about 30m long and half of the road surface was sunk.

Then, on the afternoon of October 29, another slide appeared on the positive slope, with an area of 3,500 m 2 , about 30 m high, and a soil volume of about 60,000 m 3 . There are about 60 pine trees within the slide, posing a high risk of landslides.
Immediately after receiving the information, Lam Dong Department of Construction directed the route management unit to mobilize personnel, machinery, and vehicles to clean up the landslide and fallen trees on the road.

The unit coordinated with the People's Committee of Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat, the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) to erect barriers and install warning signs at damaged locations.
The Department of Construction has sent a document requesting Project Management Board 85 to urgently inspect, handle and fix the subsidence and cracking of the road surface.

“In the short term, we are coordinating with relevant units to ban vehicles from passing through the section of the route after the landslide on October 28 and 29 and develop a plan to reduce the load on the positive slope. In the long term, the Department of Construction will select a capable consulting unit to survey and evaluate the terrain and geological conditions, from which to propose solutions to ensure long-term stability for the project,” said Director of the Department of Construction - Le Ngoc Tien.

Regarding the landslide, Director of Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1, Nguyen Nhan Ban proposed that the specialized unit should quickly announce the emergency situation of natural disasters. Because this is the first step to quickly deploy the procedures to carry out the next steps.

Directing at the scene of the landslide, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized that this was a serious landslide that occurred on a long and wide section of road, posing many potential dangers.
To ensure safety, the police force will focus on traffic control and banning vehicles from entering. The Department of Construction will urgently develop a plan to conduct a field survey and hire a consultant to carefully assess the possibility of landslides.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment urgently announced a natural disaster emergency and coordinated with units to quickly deploy the next procedures. Because this is one of the main routes connecting the Lam Dong area of thousands of flowers with the Lam Dong sea.
