At the Congress, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thuong Tin Commune Nguyen Xuan Minh lit the torch - the traditional flame taken from the Temple of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai. The sacred flame is a symbol of revolutionary tradition, solidarity strength, and the will and aspiration for development of Thuong Tin, which is rising in the new era. Along with that, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin Commune Phan Thanh Tung beat the drum to open the festival.
Opening the Congress, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin Commune Nguyen Van Tan emphasized that the Sports Congress is an event of special importance, especially after the implementation of the 2-level local government model, Thuong Tin Commune was newly established.
The Congress contributed to promoting propaganda and education work, creating a profound change in awareness of all levels, sectors and the whole society about the role, position and importance of physical education and sports in improving the health and physical strength of the people of Thuong Tin commune.
