Over 133.8 million individual and corporate customer records authenticated

On the evening of October 29, the State Bank informed that credit institutions and payment intermediaries have authenticated about 133.8 million individual and organizational customer records and stepped up data cleaning.

Along with that, 9 credit institutions are researching and exploiting the credit scoring service from the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06).

As of October 10, more than 132.4 million individual customer records (CIF) and 1.4 million organizational customer records had been biometrically verified via chip-embedded citizen identification cards or the VneID application.

Along with that, the National Credit Information Center (CIC) has coordinated with C06, Ministry of Public Security to complete 6 rounds of customer data reconciliation and cleaning with about 57 million customer records offline.

Currently, the entire banking system has actively expanded the application of electronic identification in business operations, with 57 credit institutions and 39 payment intermediary organizations implementing customer authentication using chip-embedded citizen identification cards via mobile applications; 63 credit institutions implementing authentication via devices at the counter.

In parallel, 32 credit institutions and 15 payment intermediaries are deploying authentication via the VNeID application, of which 19 units have officially put it into operation.

In addition, 28 banks and 4 payment intermediaries have linked social security accounts with bank accounts to serve subsidy payments via the VNeID application.

According to the State Bank, there are currently 9 other credit institutions researching technical integration to connect and exploit the C06 credit scoring service, thereby contributing to pushing back black credit, bringing great benefits to the community and the whole society.

The State Bank has directed credit institutions, foreign bank branches, and payment intermediary service providers to research and apply data on residents, chip-embedded citizen identification cards, identified accounts, and electronic authentication to clean data, identify, and accurately verify customers.

From there, prevent and stop the crime of impersonation and use of fake identity documents to register for banking services for illegal purposes. At the same time, research the application of population data in deploying the most convenient and safe banking products and services to people and customers.
