This morning, October 31, Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper organized the award ceremony for the 4th "Memories of Hanoi " writing contest in 2025.

Speaking at the award ceremony, journalist Nguyen Van Hoai, Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, assessed that after 4 times of organization, the writing contest "Memories of Hanoi" has increasingly attracted readers, improved quality and is an interesting playground for those who love Hanoi.

This year's contest is set in the context of our country organizing many major events, including the A80 event - celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, taking place in Hanoi, receiving enthusiastic response from readers at home and abroad.
The organizing committee received nearly 1,000 articles, comments and suggestions for the contest. The works are associated with specific stories, vivid characters, placing love for the capital in love for the country, connecting the past to the present and hoping for future development.

The authors participating in the contest are diverse in age and profession, from students, teachers, actors, business people, media people, journalists... Some authors submitted nearly 20 entries, expressing deep feelings and many valuable memories of the Capital.
The contest also received the participation of many Vietnamese people living and working abroad, and foreigners working in Vietnam.

According to journalist Nguyen Van Hoai, the impression of this year's contest is the articles about everyday stories, about specific people associated with the Capital, from generals, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, to painters, photographers or ordinary people in Hanoi. Each story, each character contributes to creating the historical flow of the Capital - a Hanoi that is heroic in fighting, creative in innovation and constantly developing.
“The works selected for publication in the Today’s Rural Newspaper/ Dan Viet are vivid works, assembling a multi-colored picture of Hanoi. Many of the topics are new and unique, bringing a unique perspective on the capital,” journalist Nguyen Van Hoai emphasized.

Evaluating the quality of the entries, writer and journalist Tran Gia Thai, Chairman of the Hanoi Writers Association and Head of the jury, said that this year's topics were very diverse. The authors not only wrote about historical milestones and preserved historical sites, but also about the people who made history through each period and era.
“Meanwhile, people are at the center of all those events, that history. People have high and low levels, and activities take place around them. Therefore, I think this is a very new and interesting feature of this year’s “Memories of Hanoi” writing contest,” said writer Tran Gia Thai.
