Quynh Anh's entry introduces the book series Young Heroes . The 1st Children's Book Storytelling Contest 2025 organized by Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper, starting from June 2025.
The little storyteller owns 234 books.
After more than three months of launching, the organizing committee has summarized the first round and awarded prizes to children with good, emotional and impressive test entries.
In addition to Quynh Anh, the organizers also awarded the first round of prizes to Mai Nguyen Quoc Bao (second prize, Nguyen Dang Son Secondary School, An Giang ), two third prizes to Huynh Phuc An (Bui Van Ba Primary School, Ho Chi Minh City) and Nguyen Ngoc Han (Nguyen Xuan Thuong Secondary School, Hue City). In addition, there were consolation prizes for the youngest contestant and prizes for sisters participating in the same contest.
The third prize winner, Huynh Phuc An, is only 7 years old this year but has been reading since he was 5. He said that at that time he could read by himself. At first he read books with stories of only 20 words maximum and then gradually read more.

Having been trained and given the opportunity by his family to be exposed to books since he was very young, Phuc An has now developed a love for and habit of reading. He currently owns 234 books.
Not only does Phuc An read at home, he also often takes books from the bookshelf in class during recess and brings books with him when he goes out. The reason he loves books so much is because he finds interesting and engaging stories in books.

Telling stories about books spreads the love of books
The children’s book storytelling contest is for children from 5 to 15 years old nationwide. Children can retell their favorite story, play an impressive character in a story they have read or tell the reason why they love a certain book.
Diverse book genres, children can choose children's books such as fairy tales, historical stories or modern short stories.
The format of the contest is quite simple, just make a short video of about 3 - 10 minutes, filmed with a phone at home, in the classroom or any familiar space. You can film alone or with your parents, teachers, or friends.

Through the contest, the organizers hope to help children develop reading habits, nurture language skills, storytelling skills and self-confidence. It is also an opportunity for families to bond and share good, meaningful stories.
The children who won first, second, and third prizes in the first round will continue to participate in the final round held in Ho Chi Minh City, expected in January 2026. The child who won first prize will receive a prize of 10 million VND.
