On the evening of December 5, the Vietnamese women's team defeated Malaysia 7-0 in the opening match of the 33rd SEA Games at the stadium in Chonburi. Although playing far from the capital Bangkok, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team were not alone.

In the stands, a group of Vietnamese fans, including tourists and families living or traveling in Thailand, were present to "fuel" the team.

There was also Chai Deepblue, a passionate Thai football fan. Wearing a shirt with a red flag and a yellow star, Chai joined the group of Vietnamese fans and continuously cheered.

When the reporter asked why he cheered for Vietnam, Chai answered in fluent and humorous Vietnamese: "I like Vietnam, I like Vietnamese football."

He added that Vietnam won 7-0, while Thailand won 8-0. However, he emphasized: "Love Vietnam, love the Vietnamese people, love Uncle Ho."

The enthusiasm of Chai Deepblue and more than a dozen Vietnamese fans turned a corner of the Chonburi stadium into a lively one. He even played the role of "conductor", leading everyone to chant "Vietnam", creating a great source of motivation to help Huynh Nhu and her teammates play brilliantly, winning a resounding 7-0 victory over Malaysia.
