VTV.vn - On October 30 in London, UK, Vietjet and Rolls-Royce signed a contract for 92 Trent 7000 engines, including comprehensive maintenance services worth 3.8 billion USD.

The official signing ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam, Vietnamese leaders and Mr. Matt Western, Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister at the Vietnam - UK High-Level Economic Summit.

The event is part of General Secretary To Lam 's visit to the UK, a historic milestone marking the upgrade of the two countries' relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening a period of extensive cooperation in the fields of aviation, technology and investment.

Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong (center, right) and Mr. Ewen McDonald, Chief Commercial Officer of Rolls-Royce Group (center, left) signed the Trent 7000 engine and engine service contract worth 3.8 billion USD at the UK Foreign Office.

These advanced Trent 7000 engines will be installed on the fleet of 40 A330neo aircraft, ready to fly directly to Europe in the near future. In addition to the engine purchase contract, Vietjet continues to choose a comprehensive maintenance service, helping to optimize operational efficiency and extend the engine's operating life.

The order helps Vietjet improve operational efficiency, reduce emissions, provide safe, comfortable and modern services to passengers, while creating more jobs for UK people, promoting innovation in aviation technology, and strengthening economic and investment relations between Vietnam, the UK and Europe.
