Accordingly, the whole province recorded 6,960 cases of dengue fever (2.6 times higher than the same period), more than 2,300 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (22% higher) and more than 7,300 cases of influenza of all strains (0.8% higher). Notably, the number of influenza A cases tends to increase sharply, with nearly 340 new cases recorded last week alone. At the Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases, in the past 2 months, the number of cases of infectious diseases treated at the hospital has doubled compared to before. On average, the hospital examines and treats 200-250 patients per day, of which infectious diseases account for 2/3 of the cases. With the increase in cases, the hospital has had to add more folding beds to meet the treatment needs. Similar situations have been recorded at many other hospitals in the province as the number of patients with infectious diseases, especially influenza, continues to increase.

According to the provincial health sector, due to the changing seasons, erratic weather creates favorable conditions for bacteria and viruses that cause infectious diseases to develop, causing the number of cases to increase. Therefore, the provincial health sector recommends that people should proactively prevent diseases, maintain personal hygiene, kill mosquitoes and larvae, wear masks in crowded places and go to medical facilities when having unusual symptoms, and avoid self-treatment at home.
