According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) report on the results of non-cash payment and digital banking activities, in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, non-cash payment transactions increased by 43.32% in quantity and 24.23% in value.
Specifically, transactions: Through the Internet channel increased by 51.20% in quantity and 37.17% in value; through mobile phones increased by 37.37% in quantity and 21.79% in value; through QR Code increased by 61.63% in quantity and 150.67% in value; through the interbank electronic payment system increased by 4.56% in quantity and 46.87% in value;
through the financial switching and electronic clearing system increased by 19.14% in quantity and 5.87% in value.
Meanwhile, ATM transactions continued to decrease by 16.77% in quantity and 5.74% in value, showing that people's demand for cash withdrawals is decreasing, replaced by non-cash payment methods.
By the end of September 2025, the total number of accounts registered and using Mobile-Money services will be more than 10.89 million, of which the number of customer accounts registered and using the service in rural, mountainous, remote, border and island areas will be about 7.5 million accounts (accounting for about 70% of the total number of accounts registered and using the service).
The total number of transactions via customers' Mobile-Money accounts is more than 290.43 million transactions, with a total value of about VND 8,511 billion.

By the end of September 2025, there were 53 organizations providing payment intermediary services licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam operating in the market, of which 49 organizations provided e-wallet services.
To date, most basic banking services have been performed on digital channels, with many banks achieving a rate of about 95% of transactions performed on digital channels.
Regarding Project 06 (Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022 of the Prime Minister ), the State Bank of Vietnam said that by the end of October 10, 2025, more than 132.4 million individual customer records (CIF) and more than 1.4 million organizational customer records had been biometrically verified via chip-embedded ID cards or the VNeID application.
The National Credit Information Center (CIC) has coordinated with C06, Ministry of Public Security to complete 6 rounds of checking and cleaning customer data with about 57 million customer records offline.
57 credit institutions (CIs) and 39 payment intermediary organizations have deployed chip-embedded CCCD card applications via phone applications.
63 credit institutions have deployed the application of chip-embedded CCCD cards via counter devices.
32 credit institutions and 15 payment intermediaries are deploying the VNeID application, of which 19 units have officially deployed it.
28 banks and 4 payment intermediaries have deployed the linking of social security accounts with bank accounts to serve social security payments through the VNeID application.
9 credit institutions are researching to integrate deployment techniques to connect and exploit the credit scoring service of Department C06.
