Dong Thap: Reviewing progress, ready for the 2nd Flower and Ornamental Festival, 2025

(DTO) On the afternoon of October 30, at Sa Dec ward, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan had a working session with relevant departments, Sa Dec ward, Tan Duong commune on preparations for the 2nd Flower - Ornamental Festival in 2025.

The construction of the road parallel to Sa Dec Flower Village is being urged and accelerated to complete before the opening of the Festival.

According to the Plan for organizing the 2nd Flower and Ornamental Festival of the Provincial People's Committee, Sa Dec ward was assigned to preside over the implementation of 13 contents. In particular, the highlights are the categories: Displaying 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants; ancient Sa Dec space; Sa Dec flower space; live show "A hundred years of flower village fragrance and color"; Sa Dec flower and ornamental market; "Southern fragrance and color" culinary street; 2nd Contest for Decorating Flower Gates, Flower Streets, and Beautiful Office Flower Gardens...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan gave a speech at the working session to review the preparation progress for the 2nd Flower and Ornamental Festival in 2025.

Chairman of Sa Dec Ward People's Committee Nguyen Van Tam said that up to now, the ward has completed the plan and estimated budget for organizing the above contents. The locality has also coordinated with the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Area 2 and related units to urge the acceleration of the progress of key projects and items in Sa Dec Ward (Sa Dec Bridge, Road N7, Road parallel to Lang Hoa Street), however, the progress is still very slow due to funding problems.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Dec Ward proposed that the Provincial People's Committee approve a part of the public budget for the ward to deploy the project items serving the festival. At the same time, he requested the Provincial People's Committee to pay attention to directing the relevant departments and branches to urge and speed up the progress of key projects and items in Sa Dec Ward to complete them soon in November 2025 and put them into use before the opening of the festival.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan suggested that the Department of Construction review and prioritize accelerating the construction progress of Sa Dec bridge to ensure completion of the project to serve the Festival.

Regarding funding, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the locality coordinate with the consulting unit to review the items, divide the budget sources and socialize the appraisal proposals appropriately, in the spirit of savings and efficiency.

In addition to the planned construction items, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the consulting unit to research and create more highlights and projects to promote the advantages of Sa Dec and neighboring localities; relevant units urgently deploy tasks and report on the implementation process on schedule...

The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival takes place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026 (November 8, 2025 to November 16, 2025 lunar calendar) with a total of 39 activities.
