The 6th Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Culture and Tourism Festival will recreate Cai Be floating market.

(DTO) On the afternoon of October 23, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan chaired a working session with provincial departments and branches and online with Cai Be Commune People's Committee to listen to reports on plans and plans to organize the 6th Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Cultural - Tourism Festival - 2025.

According to the draft plan, the Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village Cultural - Tourism Festival, with the theme: "Memories of the Ancient Village", will take place from December 3 to 7 at the People's Committee of Cai Be commune, aiming to preserve and promote the value of the ancient village's cultural heritage, contributing to the development of local tourism.

Main activities include: Heritage journey connecting culture, tourism and craft villages; Famtrip program, Seminar on developing tourism products of Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village; Digital journey to Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village; Cuisine "Quintessence of the West". In addition, there are also folk dance programs; "Village gate storytelling" contest; "Night of Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village imprints" program; Vietnamese goods to rural areas program...

The highlight of this year's festival is the re-enactment of Cai Be floating market, offering visitors a unique culinary experience; stalls selling local handicrafts, specialties as gifts, along the riverbank leading to the ancient house and on the river are culinary boats serving a variety of traditional folk cakes and typical products of Dong Thap, helping visitors enjoy the taste of their homeland.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan requested communes and wards to prepare booths displaying OCOP products to introduce and promote local products at the festival. Relevant departments reviewed assigned tasks and estimated implementation costs.

The Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested Cai Be Commune People's Committee to mobilize socialized funding sources to organize the festival and renovate the festival area; at the same time, this festival, the Commune People's Committee will restore Cai Be floating market to develop tourism.
