Tan Hiep island commune consists of 8 large and small islands (Lao island, Dai island, Mo island, Kho Me island, Kho Con island, La island, Tai island, Ong island) with a total area of about 15km2, a population of about 2,600 people and is known as the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve. According to the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 issued by the Prime Minister in 2024, the South Central Coast has 17 potential locations to develop into national tourist areas, of which Da Nang city has Ba Na, Son Tra and Cu Lao Cham.

However, according to Party Secretary and Chairman of Tan Hiep Commune People's Council Le Moi, over the past 10 years, due to many reasons, the zoning plan of Tan Hiep - Cu Lao Cham island commune has not been approved by the competent authority. Therefore, although investment in the island commune has received attention, it is not fundamental and lacks strategic vision. The most urgent and important solution now is to complete the approval of the master plan for the development of Tan Hiep - Cu Lao Cham island commune and specialized plans on transportation, information technology, tourism , ecological conservation, architecture, residents, development of island cultural space...

Meanwhile, according to the Party Secretary and Chairwoman of Tra Linh Commune People's Council, Ho Thi Minh Thuan, the planned area for Ngoc Linh ginseng development in the commune currently has a total natural forest area of 7,365 hectares, including 2,708 hectares of special-use forest, 4,349 hectares of protective forest and 307 hectares of production forest. Natural forest accounts for more than 98% of the total forest area, demonstrating great ecological value and conservation potential, with a forest cover rate of 61.3%. More than 671 hectares of forest have been leased to develop Ngoc Linh ginseng raw material areas with an output of about 100 tons/year, opening up the potential for sustainable economic development for Tra Linh Commune in the future.

In the coming time, Tra Linh commune needs to invest in resources to create a breakthrough in infrastructure, focusing on building a transportation system, forming and developing a biological - medicinal industrial park in the west of Da Nang to become a center for processing, researching and preserving Ngoc Linh ginseng genes and precious medicinal species. At the same time, developing high-tech medicinal agriculture, focusing on building large-scale medicinal material areas, ensuring quality and meeting international standards for Ngoc Linh ginseng; closely linking the development of Ngoc Linh ginseng growing areas with the protection of natural forests, preserving biodiversity and forest ecosystems. Along with that, promoting the development of the private economy and innovative startups; developing eco-tourism combined with medicinal tourism and preserving indigenous culture...

The Department of Construction said that in the plan to implement urban and rural planning in Da Nang city after the administrative unit arrangement, the City People's Committee directed units and localities to study the development orientation of functional areas in the process of researching and proposing city planning (socio-economic development planning) and general planning (urban development planning).

Accordingly, research and propose orientations for the development of functional areas in some wards and communes; in which Tan Hiep commune is located in the world biosphere reserve, so it is possible to consider the orientation of forming a national tourist area. Thu Bon commune has the world cultural heritage My Son, so it is possible to consider the orientation of forming a functional area aiming at the goal of preserving, maintaining and promoting the world heritage. Tra Linh commune is located in Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve, so it is possible to consider the orientation of forming a functional area aiming at the goal of preserving, maintaining and promoting the value of Ngoc Linh ginseng (forming and orienting the development of the Ngoc Linh ginseng ecosystem)...

In the plan to implement urban and rural planning in Da Nang city after the administrative unit arrangement, the City People's Committee directed the units to organize the planning of functional areas (with an area of over 200 hectares) for 14 industrial parks (names of industrial parks according to the industrial park development plan of the old Da Nang City Planning and the old Quang Nam Province Planning approved by the Prime Minister). In addition, functional areas are planned for 1 high-tech park, 1 concentrated information technology park, 1 university village and other functional areas, new functional areas are oriented in the process of making the city's general planning.

The City People's Committee also noted that the units should review the planning of functional areas under their management authority. In case it is necessary to soon implement the zoning plan to serve investment, they should proactively implement the planning organization work according to regulations. The implementation of planning procedures for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone is carried out according to the plan of the City People's Committee... in order to soon implement works and projects to promote socio-economic development.
