Implementing the Government's Project on building a "drug-free commune" in the period of 2025 - 2030, Dong Nai Police have directed local police to drastically deploy many solutions, from eliminating hot spots, controlling subjects to propagating and mobilizing the community, contributing to pushing back drug abuse and ensuring security and order in the area.
Faced with the complicated developments of drug crimes, the Provincial Police have directed professional units to coordinate with local police to combat, prevent and strictly handle serious cases, including many cases of transporting and trafficking large quantities of drugs.
Local police proactively eradicate drug use and storage locations in residential areas, industrial zones and near educational facilities, thereby promptly preventing supply into the area.
During the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime to ensure security and order on the occasion of National Day September 2, many localities achieved remarkable results. Management and prevention of recidivism were focused on. Commune-level police coordinated with residential groups and organizations to increase patrols, promptly detect unusual signs for timely intervention. In industrial parks and boarding houses, the police force coordinated with enterprises to organize propaganda and inspections, contributing to reducing the risk of drug abuse.
Under the direction of the Provincial Police Department, the implementation of the "drug-free commune" project is focused on three main spearheads: Combating, preventing and supporting drug addiction treatment.
In particular, the police force at all levels continues to expand special projects, fight and completely eradicate drug rings and dens in the area. At the same time, prevention work is promoted through coordination between the commune and ward police with the government, mass organizations, schools and enterprises to organize propaganda sessions, training to identify drug crime tricks, and raise awareness among people, especially young people.
Support for drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management are also focused on, helping addicts access medical facilities, psychological counseling, and vocational training to reintegrate into the community, contributing to gradually building a drug-free, safe and sustainable area.
According to Dong Nai Police, to achieve the goal of building a drug-free area, coordination is needed from the entire political system and the entire population, in which commune-level police are the core force.
At the recent conference to guide the transformation of key and complicated drug-related areas, the provincial police leaders emphasized that the grassroots police need to coordinate closely, deploy synchronous solutions, promptly remove difficulties, and strive to complete the goal of drug-free communes and wards by 2025.
In localities such as Loc Ninh and An Vien, the local government and police have issued specific plans to strive for no drug addicts by 2030, 100% of residential areas to be transformed, and all drug addicts to receive drug rehabilitation measures.
