Launching a 60-day peak competition to speed up the progress of the Riverside Road project

On November 5, at the construction site of the Riverside Road project (the section connecting Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway to Dong Trieu), the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Region II launched a 60-day peak competition to speed up the project's construction progress. Comrade Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and spoke at the launching ceremony.

The Riverside Road Project is over 40km long, designed with 2 parallel lanes, 3 lanes in each direction, the land position in the middle of the 2 lanes is over 40m wide to reserve for future expansion and development. On the route, there are 13 river bridges, 10 intersections at the same level, 3 underpasses for people, synchronous lighting and traffic safety systems. The project has a total investment of nearly 6,400 billion VND, bringing driving force to the western region of the province when directly connecting Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway with localities in the region.

After more than 3 years of implementation, due to having to construct on a completely new route, passing through many complex geological locations, many swamps and rivers... the project encountered many difficulties. With the goal of promoting investment - construction to contribute to economic growth, speeding up the progress of public investment disbursement in 2025..., implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the investor and contractors have focused on solving many problems; in particular, launching a 60-day peak competition to speed up the project's progress.

At the launching ceremony of the competition, the investor and contractors expressed their determination and commitment to promote the highest sense of responsibility to compete to complete many important items. Specifically, the construction of K95 roadbed embankment was completed, weak soil was treated with cement reinforced soil piles in package 8; 20.03km of K95 foundation was cleared, weak soil was treated in package 9, the disbursement volume of the competition reached over 1,000 billion VND...

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised the determination and efforts of the investor and contractors. He emphasized: The riverside road is a key traffic project, of special strategic significance, marking a strong turning point in the process of completing the province's synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure system.

During the project implementation, despite many challenges and difficulties, the investor, contractors, consultants, supervisors, etc. have demonstrated a sense of responsibility and patriotic emulation to speed up the project's progress.

To complete the project as planned, put it into operation soon, and promote its effectiveness after investment, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to continue to strengthen the direction and operation, closely follow the scene, promptly remove difficulties and problems that arise; and strictly manage progress, quality and labor safety along the entire route.

The contractors have promoted their sense of responsibility, mobilized maximum human resources, machinery and equipment, organized construction teams reasonably, arranged 3 continuous shifts, and made the most of favorable weather. Localities where the route passes through need to be more determined in site clearance work, focusing on thoroughly removing obstacles...

He believes that the emulation movement is an important driving force to demonstrate the determination to complete the project on schedule and with quality, demonstrating the pioneering, dynamic and creative spirit of Quang Ninh people in the new era. This is a vivid demonstration of the province's aspiration to rise up in creating modern, green, smart, regionally connected and internationally integrated transport infrastructure.
