On July 17, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province announced that it had approved a local adjustment to the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan of Buu Long Tourist and Residential Area, located in Tran Bien Ward (Dong Nai, formerly Buu Long Ward, Bien Hoa City, old Dong Nai). This adjustment aims to preserve the 100-year-old Doc Phu Su villa located along the Dong Nai River.

Specifically, adjusting the land area of more than 2,900 m2 from the function of planning green park land to the function of planning traffic land; adjusting the land area of about 438 m2 from the function of planning traffic land to the function of planning relic - religious land; adjusting the land area of about 311 m2 from the function of planning riverside resort land to the function of planning relic - religious land.
After adjustment, the Dong Nai riverside road when passing by the 100-year-old Governor's villa will be "adjusted" to the direction of the Dong Nai river to avoid the villa.
Dong Nai riverside road is a key project in Bien Hoa city (old). The road is over 5 km long with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND from the budget. Of which, 1,339 billion VND is for road construction; 613 billion VND is for the riverside embankment construction project.
According to the old planning, 2/3 of the villa was located within the riverside road. Faced with the risk of the villa being demolished, some historians and public opinion researchers believe that it is necessary to preserve this 100-year-old villa by straightening the road; some even proposed the solution of inviting the "genie" to move the house out of the clearance area...
After adjustment, the riverside road passing by the villa will be straightened towards the riverbank, the villa of Governor Vo Ha Thanh will be retained.

After that, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee decided to keep the villa, and assigned the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to preserve and promote the cultural, historical and architectural values of this villa.
The 100-year-old villa above belongs to Governor Vo Ha Thanh (locals call it Lau Ong Phu), facing the Dong Nai River, with its back leaning against Binh Dien Mountain (in Buu Long Ward, Bien Hoa City, old Dong Nai). According to documents, the villa was built in 1922 and completed in 1924. In 1996, this place was chosen as the main setting for filming the movie Nguoi dep Tay Do.
