Nguyen Cong Tru Street - the main axis of Ward 8, Bai Chay Ward, is more than 1km long, running through 6 residential groups, with over 300 households living along both sides. Invested nearly 30 years ago, after a long period of exploitation and use, the road has deteriorated despite many repairs and upgrades. Therefore, the biggest wish of the people here over the years is that the road will soon be invested, expanded, and be spacious, meeting the travel and trade needs of the residential area.
Now, that wish has become a reality when Nguyen Cong Tru Street is one of 6 projects deployed by Bai Chay Ward in the Campaign "100-day and night peak to improve urban quality and residential infrastructure" which was launched on the morning of November 5. This information makes the people of Ward 8 very excited. Although the land here is considered "every inch of land is gold", most households expressed their agreement and willingness to donate land, relocate constructions and architectural objects to widen the road.

Mr. Pham Duc Khanh, Zone 8, Bai Chay Ward, shared: “When I heard the news that Nguyen Cong Tru Street was being invested in and upgraded, I was very happy. Today, the ward launched 100 peak days, including a street in Zone 8, everyone came very early to participate and respond. I hope the project will be implemented on schedule, ensuring quality to soon bring a new look to the residential area.”
Sharing the same excitement, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thang, group 2, area 8, said: “I have no hesitation in donating land. In 2012, my family voluntarily donated land to expand this route. Now that the government continues to invest, I support it even more. My family is willing to dismantle the fence and donate part of the land to contribute to urban beautification, creating general convenience for the community.”

With the spirit of consensus, voluntariness and high community responsibility of the people, in just a few months, Nguyen Cong Tru Street, Bai Chay Ward will have a new look, more spacious and modern, meeting the long-standing expectations of the people of Ward 8.
Comrade Nguyen Hoang Quy, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Bai Chay Ward, said: Along with the project to renovate and upgrade Nguyen Cong Tru Street, the ward also has 5 more projects to be implemented in the "100-day and night peak to improve the quality of urban and residential infrastructure". The ward determines the spirit and responsibility of cadres, party members and professional civil servants to be exemplary in consulting, organizing implementation and mobilizing people to participate. Another important thing is the participation of the people so that the program can be sustainable in the long term. The campaign is an important initial step to renovate and complete urban infrastructure, improve the living environment and improve the quality of residential areas in Bai Chay Ward. The campaign's overarching goal is to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system, the business community and all the people, creating a vibrant and widespread emulation movement with the motto "The State and people work together, the government accompanies businesses, the people are the masters and beneficiaries".

The campaign "100 days and nights to improve the quality of urban areas and residential areas" was deployed simultaneously in 11 communes and wards: Ha Long, Bai Chay, Hong Gai, Viet Hung, Tuan Chau, Ha Lam, Cao Xanh, Ha Tu, Hoanh Bo, Quang La, Thong Nhat, with 96 projects, focusing on urban beautification, traffic infrastructure, drainage, playgrounds, public sports fields, lighting... To implement the projects, up to now, hundreds of people have voluntarily donated tens of thousands of square meters of land.
In Viet Hung ward, 500 households voluntarily donated land, constructions, and fences with over 3,000 square meters of land worth nearly 100 billion VND to build 12 roads and public playgrounds. Bai Chay ward has 110 households voluntarily donated land with a total donated area of over 1,000 square meters, with a total value of nearly 21 billion VND. Ha Lam ward has 260 households donating land with a total area of over 1,000 square meters. Cao Xanh ward has 119 households donating over 980 square meters...

To speed up the progress of project implementation, wards prioritize resources to deploy investment in urban beautification projects, traffic infrastructure, drainage, playgrounds, and public sports fields in residential areas. In particular, each locality clearly identifies key and key projects that need to be done immediately, linked to the urgent needs of the people; implement synchronously and drastically with the motto of clear people, clear work, clear progress, clear responsibility, clear efficiency; take people as the center, take actual results as the measure. Along with the drastic participation of the government, the campaign also received consensus and strong support from the people, who are willing to donate land, contribute labor, and join hands with localities to implement projects.

Comrade Vu Ngoc Lam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Viet Hung Ward, said: To implement 12 projects in the area, 100% of the neighborhoods with projects have established Steering Committees and propaganda teams to mobilize people to clear the land. 12/12 projects have been approved by the Ward People's Committee for investment policy and are urgently preparing steps to start construction. More than 95% of affected households have voluntarily donated land, dismantled architectural materials, trees and crops. This is a result demonstrating the spirit of consensus, sense of responsibility and trust of the people in the correct policy of the province and the ward. The ward prioritizes allocating resources for implementation; at the same time, maximizing the role of the people as the main subject.

The campaign "100 days and nights to improve the quality of urban areas and residential areas" takes place in the context of Quang Ninh province's efforts to realize the goal of becoming a centrally-run city before 2030. The success of the campaign creates new momentum for localities in particular and the whole province to successfully implement the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress; practically contributing to the goal of building Quang Ninh province rich, civilized, modern, happy with the goal of becoming a centrally-run city before 2030 and by 2045 being one of the country's important economic locomotives.
