Dong Tam area has an area of over 36 hectares, formed from 5 small hamlets managed by Thanh Nien Tea Enterprise, under the control of Minh Dai commune, old Thanh Son district. The whole area has 120 households with 489 people; there are 2 ethnic groups living together, of which the Muong ethnic group accounts for 11%.

The livelihood of people in the area mainly comes from tea production, livestock farming and other services. The average income per capita in 2025 is estimated at 58.9 million VND/person/year, an increase of 2.3 million VND compared to 2024. The number of households with an average income of 60 million VND or more accounts for 50%. Currently, 100% of the population has built houses, of which over 60% are solidly built houses, 38% are semi-solidly built houses... the whole area has only 1 poor household and 1 near-poor household.

Minh Dai commune leaders awarded the title of Cultural Residential Area in 2025 to Dong Tam area

The emulation movements and the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" were enthusiastically participated by the community. Through evaluation, the rate of cultural families in the area reached 97.5%. The propaganda, dissemination and legal education work was focused on by the Front Work Committee of the residential area. Immediately after the 2-level local government came into operation, the Front Work Committee, branches and organizations of the area increased the propaganda of the Party's policies and the State's legal policies to all classes of people so that union members, association members and people could grasp the regulations, locations and methods of operation of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, especially the Public Administration Service Center in the commune after the arrangement and merger.
