Lang Son has many outstanding potentials for developing the CBCT industry. With its special geographical location, Lang Son is an important trade gateway between Vietnam and China, convenient for the import and export of raw materials and processed products. At the same time, the province has strengths in plantation wood, agricultural and forestry products. The whole province currently has key wood and non-timber forest product raw material areas: the largest anise growing area in the country with over 40,000 hectares, pine growing area of 137,000 hectares, cinnamon growing area of over 9,000 hectares...
Based on the above advantages, to promote industrial development in general, on September 1, 2021, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 45 on industrial development for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030; which clearly states the focus on prioritizing the development of the CBCT industry in the direction of moving from primary processing and raw processing with low value to developing the CBCT industry with high added value.
In the 2021-2025 period, the province attracted 10 projects in the processing and manufacturing industry with a total investment of VND 533.7 billion. |
Accordingly, one of the solutions that the province has focused on implementing in recent times is to attract investment in developing infrastructure for industrial parks and clusters (IPs). In the period of 2021-2025, the province has established 1 industrial park with a total area of nearly 600 hectares; 9 IPs with a total area of 411 hectares. Currently, the IPs are in the process of implementation, especially the VSIP Lang Son IP Infrastructure Investment and Business Project is currently completing phase 1 of technical infrastructure (scale of 200 hectares).
In parallel with the development of infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters, recently, relevant departments and branches have actively implemented solutions to attract enterprises to invest in developing the CBCT industry. For example, each year the Department of Industry and Trade organizes 2-4 conferences to meet with enterprises; coordinates with relevant units to organize investment promotion activities, promote the potential and strengths of the province...
In the period of 2021-2025, the province has attracted 10 projects in the field of CBCT technology with a total investment of 533.7 billion VND. For example: Thanh An Greenwood green wood processing factory project; project of processing and manufacturing rosin products in the old Dinh Lap district...
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hau, General Director of Thanh An Wood Production Joint Stock Company, said: Realizing that Lang Son has a large area of planted wood materials, the company has researched and implemented a project for a wood production and processing factory in Tuan Son commune. After the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy, the company started construction and the factory officially went into operation in 2021, specializing in the production of plywood for export. Currently, the factory's capacity reaches 1,000 m3/month; creating jobs for 200 local workers.
In addition to completing the infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters, implementing investment promotion activities, the province also pays attention to supporting enterprises operating in the field of CBCT to apply modern technology to production. In the period of 2021 - 2025, through industrial promotion capital, the province has supported technology transfer and application of advanced machinery to CBCT industrial production in 25 projects with a total amount of over 4.7 billion VND; supported 62 enterprises and cooperatives to innovate and apply technological solutions to improve productivity, quality and product value.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Director of Hoang Lien MC Company Limited, said: From 2021 to now, with the attention of relevant levels and sectors, the company's employees have been supported with training to raise general awareness and certification of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System in macadamia processing. The company has also received attention from professional agencies to build and support over 30,000 traceability stamps... Currently, on average, each year the company purchases 200 - 300 tons of fresh macadamia nuts for preliminary processing, processing into macadamia nuts, split macadamia nuts..., bringing in revenue of more than 4 billion VND/year.
With synchronous solutions implemented, in recent years, the province's CBCT industry group has recorded impressive growth, becoming one of the important economic sectors. This is also the industry with the largest proportion in the province's industrial structure. It is estimated that in 2025, the added value of the CBCT industry will reach 1,668.8 billion VND, an increase of 64% compared to 2021. The average annual growth rate in the period 2021 - 2025 will reach 13.37%. The production index of the CBCT industry in 2024 will increase by 9.59% compared to 2023; it is estimated that in 2025, it will increase by 5.05% compared to 2024.
Mr. Dinh Ky Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: In the period of 2021 - 2025, the province has attracted a number of CBCT projects, contributing positively to the province's industrial development. However, this result is not really commensurate with the province's potential. In the coming time, the department will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to promote the development of infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters; reform administrative procedures; have preferential policies to attract CBCT enterprises to invest in the province.
