Vinamake silver shampoo discovered to be fake, request for nationwide recall

The Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ) said that the product Natural Black Hair Colorant Silver Shampoo (brand name: Vinamake) produced and marketed by Vinamake Joint Stock Company was determined to be counterfeit goods

According to Deputy Director Ta Manh Hung, the results of the examination at the Institute of Criminal Science - Ministry of Public Security showed that the product sample did not contain some of the ingredients as declared on the label and packaging. Pursuant to Point b, Clause 7, Article 3 of Decree 98/2020/ND-CP of the Government, this product was concluded to be "counterfeit goods".

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to widely inform people and businesses not to continue trading and using violating products; at the same time, return them to the suppliers and immediately report to the authorities if similar products are discovered on the market.

Localities are directed to increase sampling and quality inspection of circulating cosmetics, and set up hotlines to receive reports on fake, smuggled, or unknown-origin cosmetics.

Vinamake Joint Stock Company must send a recall notice to all agents and distributors, recall all batches of violating products and report the results to the Drug Administration Department before November 28.

In particular, the Phu Tho Department of Health was asked to coordinate with competent authorities to monitor the recall process at the enterprise and report the results before December 12.

Previously, the Drug Administration also suspended circulation and recalled three products nationwide. Other products of Vinamake Includes: DR. Hair Ginger Shampoo; Ginger Shampoo; Nano silver feminine hygiene solution with perfume scent.

All three samples were determined to be counterfeit by authorities on the grounds that the ingredients as declared were not detected.

This resolute move, according to the Drug Administration, aims to prevent fake cosmetics from circulating on the market and protect consumer safety.
