Appearing in the role of Chien Do, Bui Nguyen Gia Bao (known by his stage name Muoi Dubai) made the audience laugh many times with his chubby, humorous appearance and witty lines. The child actor also surprised with his ability to express his inner thoughts, natural acting, diverse and adorable expressions. His lines in the film even became an online phenomenon, attracting tens of millions of views.

Sharing with VietNamNet , Gia Bao (student of class 6A9, Tay Mo 3 Secondary School, Hanoi ) said that after the role of Chien Do, his life has changed a lot when he became known to everyone.
“When I go out, many people recognize me, even at school, everyone knows me. I feel very happy and grateful for the love and affection that everyone has for me,” Gia Bao shared.
The male student said that the role of Chien Do is quite close to his personality in real life. "Because Chien Do's personality in the movie is quite similar to mine, it was not too difficult for me to transform into the character," Gia Bao said, adding that he is a humorous and approachable person.

The most difficult part of filming, according to Gia Bao, was transforming from a city kid into a country boy, learning how to play the traditional games of his grandparents' and parents' generation.
To get into character well, Gia Bao and his co-stars experienced and played "old" games for a month before filming.
Gia Bao said that in the movie, he liked Chien Do's self-praise line the most: "Chien is really cute!". "The line and expression clearly show my feelings and thoughts about this character. I think Chien Do is a very cute, humorous character and brings laughter to the audience. Saying that line, I also get to enjoy it", Gia Bao humorously said.
The male student also remembers the line that became a hot trend online: “I don’t need to study well. When I come home, I can raise cows like my parents and I’ll have a lot of money.” However, Gia Bao wants to tell his peers: “That’s just a funny line. I hope you all study well, grow up to have a good job and be worthy of being the future owners of the country, instead of relying on others. Actually, raising and taking care of cows is very hard.”

Contrary to the image of the boy Chien as a poor student in the movie, in real life, the male student has an impressive academic record.
Gia Bao was an excellent student at the district level (Nam Tu Liem) in the 2023-2024 school year; won the Gold Medal at the FISO International Math Olympiad for two consecutive years (2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years); Silver Medal at the Southeast Asian Math Olympiad National round along with many other medals in English, Informatics, etc.
Currently, Gia Bao is also the Team Leader of Tay Mo 3 Secondary School and also the class monitor of class 6A9. He received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Council of the Young Pioneers and is a delegate to the Hanoi Children's Forum in 2025.
Before “A Millimeter Away From Me”, Gia Bao was the main character in the movie “Trang Nhi”; was the main MC of the Hoa Vui Ca program broadcast on VTV3 and won many awards… The male student is also capable of playing the piano, drums and several other musical instruments.
Recently, I represented outstanding students of Tay Mo 3 Secondary School to receive gifts from Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son.
Gia Bao said that he had to make a specific plan to balance both his studies and his participation in many activities. The male student felt lucky to always receive encouragement and support from his family and teachers. “After the filming days, when I returned to school, the teachers took the time to explain the lessons I still didn’t understand,” Gia Bao said.
The male student said that his favorite subject is Music, but the subject he is best at is probably Math. Gia Bao also likes to learn foreign languages such as English and Chinese so that he can communicate and share his thoughts with foreigners.

Ms. Vu Thi Thin, Principal of Tay Mo 3 Secondary School, shared that the first impression of student Bui Nguyen Gia Bao was his sharp eyes and eloquence, always polite. “He proves his ability more and more. In class, Gia Bao is good at many subjects, not 'bad at all subjects' like the character Chien Do. In particular, he is talented in foreign languages such as English, Chinese... Bao is also an exemplary student and participates in the Team movements very actively and enthusiastically. He is always loved by his friends.”
In the Team work, Gia Bao is an active, enthusiastic and creative team leader. “Gia Bao is a multi-talented boy, sings well, plays musical instruments well... He is truly the core of the school's cultural and artistic activities. I believe he will go far in the future,” said Ms. Thin.

Gia Bao said that his goal this school year is to be an excellent student and continue to win prizes in Math, English and Youth Informatics competitions. He also hopes to participate in the Tao Quan program once and bring laughter to the audience. "I really hope that the directors and actors will give me the opportunity to represent the children in the Tao Quan program this year," Gia Bao shared.
