"The two students D. and T. are in the same class and are close friends. We do not know the cause yet and regret this incident," said the principal of Quang Trung Secondary School when referring to the incident in which a male student was assaulted and pushed into the lake by a friend.

Regarding the incident of an 8th grade male student assaulting and pushing his friend into a lake and then leaving in Lao Cai , on the afternoon of November 6, speaking with VietNamNet reporter , Ms. Dang Thu Ha, Principal of Quang Trung Secondary School ( Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai) said that up to now, the school is very surprised and does not understand the reason that led to the incident of student D. assaulting and pushing student T. into the lake.

According to Ms. Ha, D. and T. were in the same class and were very close friends before the incident. Both of them were mentally stable, sociable with friends and had good academic performance.

"Immediately after the incident, the homeroom teacher and the families of the two students took T. to the hospital for a health check. At the same time, D.'s family took him to the police station to report the incident. The school is actively coordinating with the authorities to investigate and clarify the incident," said Ms. Ha.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (father of T - the male student who was pushed into the lake by his friend) said that his son is out of danger and is being monitored and treated at Lao Cai General Hospital No. 1.

Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on November 5, the People's Committee of Yen Bai Ward received a report from the ward police that two male 8th grade students from Quang Trung Secondary School had a conflict and a fight with each other. Afterwards, a male student pushed the victim over the railing into the lake and then left.

Mr. Luyen Huu Chung, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province, informed that the school and ward police arrived at the scene of the incident and took the injured victim to the emergency room.

Mr. Chung added that, through a quick report, the initial cause was due to the two sides arguing and then suddenly fighting. The 8th grade male student - the one who lifted and pushed his friend into the lake - was noted to have signs of hyperactivity.
