Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued the Expanded Immunization Plan for the period 2026 - 2028 to ensure adequate, timely and safe supply of vaccines in the expanded immunization program, protect the achievements of polio eradication, eliminate neonatal tetanus and move towards eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases.

The specific goal for the next 3 years is to maintain the vaccination rate of all vaccines at 90% to 95% or higher, depending on the type; ensure 100% of communes meet the standards for eliminating neonatal tetanus, no cases of wild polio virus, measles rate below 5/100,000 people, whooping cough below 1/100,000 people...

According to the plan, in the period of 2026 - 2028, the whole province will organize vaccination for more than 71,200 children under 1 year old, nearly 75,620 children 1 year old, more than 74,820 children 1 year old, more than 73,440 children 18 months old, nearly 73,350 children 2 years old, more than 79,000 children 7 years old and more than 69,000 pregnant women. The total vaccine demand in this period is more than 2 million doses, including 12 types of vaccines, including Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis (BCG), DPT-VGB-Hib, Polio (OPV and IPV), Measles, Measles - Rubella, Japanese encephalitis, Tetanus, Rota... The central budget ensures funding for vaccine purchases; local budgets along with other legal aid and funding sources support implementation.

The plan will be implemented synchronously across the province for 3 years (2026 - 2028), contributing to protecting children's and community health, maintaining achievements in disease prevention with vaccines.
