Mr. K'Luan's journey to help people

Every day, Mr. K'Luan (Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune) regularly rides his motorbike around the ethnic village in the early morning and afternoon to observe and remind school-age children who are absent from class. When he discovers such cases, he goes to their homes to find out the cause and encourages them to return to school. In the evening, he walks around the concrete roads in the village. Because he knows most of the households, he can easily recognize if there are any school-age children who gather on the street instead of staying home to study. In such cases, he gently reminds them, but if they repeat the offense many times, he will contact the parents directly to coordinate education and correction.

This is one of Mr. K'Luan's daily tasks in his role as Head of the Front Work Committee of Hamlet 4, a position he has devotedly held for many years.

Help students get to school

Every year, before the new school year begins and before the end of the first semester and the year-end summary, Mr. K'Luan is busy contacting friends everywhere to raise funds to buy new notebooks and textbooks; "refurbish" old textbooks that have been supported... to send to students in difficult circumstances and students in the community who have achieved good academic results.

Mr. K'Luan said: Hamlet 4 has 487 families, of which 370 are Ma and Stieng ethnic groups. People's lives have improved compared to before, but there are still many difficulties. Therefore, the local government regularly promotes parents' interest in their children's education, and then mobilizes resources from other places to take care of students. In recent years, many State policies prioritizing education in ethnic minority areas have been implemented, creating favorable conditions for children to go to school.

At the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Nai province, term 2025-2030, Mr. K'Luan was one of 346 official delegates representing all walks of life in the province attending the congress. According to Mr. K'Luan, participating in a major event of the province is an honor and a responsibility. Therefore, in addition to participating in the proposed programs of the congress, Mr. K'Luan also connected with other delegates with the desire to share the beauty of community culture and call on everyone to pay attention to ethnic minorities in Ta Lai.

However, according to Mr. K'Luan, a number of people still have the mentality of not wanting to study for a long time, just hoping that their children "knowing how to read and write is enough" so that they can soon go to work to earn money to support their families. Therefore, he always considers promoting and encouraging the spirit of learning as the most important task in his work.

In his role as Head of the Front Work Committee of Hamlet 4, and also a trusted person, Mr. K'Luan regularly informs about the State's educational policies for ethnic minorities. He helps each family understand the rights of their children when they go to school and the benefits of studying for the future of the young generation in the community. In addition, he also encourages parents and students with small gifts, talks, and explains so that people and each student realize that studying is very convenient now, as long as they try hard, the path to school and finding a better future is always open.

However, the situation of “dropping out of school” still occurs occasionally. Recently, when he discovered that two primary school students were absent from school, he went to their homes to find out the reason. At that time, their parents were both working for hire, he asked the neighbors and from the two students themselves, he learned that the reason was because they were too playful. After telling the students to return to class, in the evening, he continued to meet with the parents to remind them to pay more attention to their children’s studies, and at the same time gave them new school supplies.

Over the years, the number of times Mr. K'Luan has had to go to homes to advise or remind dropout children to return to class has decreased compared to before. He shared: "I hope I will no longer have to go to homes to meet students who have dropped out of school halfway. I hope all children study hard, so that in the evenings, sitting at the study table is a familiar image, the sound of studying echoes throughout the neighborhood. Only by going to school can children hope to find better jobs in the future, especially for children in ethnic minority villages with many difficulties."

Mr. K'Can, a prestigious person among ethnic minorities in Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune, commented: Thanks to the positive impact of Mr. K'Luan, along with many other reasons, children of the Stieng and Ma ethnic groups are studying more diligently than before.

Together with the government, build solid houses for the people

In addition to accompanying his children to school, in his role as Head of the Front Work Committee of Hamlet 4, Mr. K'Luan also carries out many community support activities. One of the outstanding activities is that whenever a family receives financial support from the State to build a solid house, he and a group of young volunteers participate in moving land, raising the foundation and supporting the work required by the construction workers.

During this process, his group provided their own meals, without bothering the homeowner to prepare meals, helping to reduce costs so that the family could soon have their dream home. At the same time, he also mobilized friends to support each bag of cement and each block of sand to help the homeowner complete the house. On the day of handing over the house, the Hamlet Committee prepared housewarming gifts, creating a warm and affectionate atmosphere in the community.

Ms. Ka To (residing in Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune) said: Due to difficult circumstances, her family received financial support from the State to build a solid house. During the process of completing the house, Mr. K'Luan mobilized more building materials for her family and helped with other young people in the village until everything was completed.

For families with elderly people who need to be treated at the hospital but are facing difficulties, Mr. K'Luan mobilizes friends and relatives to contribute to helping take the sick person to see a doctor and get timely treatment.

Mr. K'Luan shared: “The Front is the center of solidarity, the “common home” of all classes, ethnicities, religions and all walks of life. In my role, I try to build solidarity within the community through small actions that each individual and each family can help each other. From there, I contribute to preserving the friendship and cultural beauty of the community in Hamlet 4.”
