Mr. K'Luận's journey of helping the people.

Every day, Mr. K'Luận (Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune) regularly rides his motorbike around the ethnic minority village in the early morning and afternoon to observe and remind school-aged children who are absent from class. When he discovers such cases, he goes to their homes to find out the reason and encourage them to return to school. In the evening, he takes a stroll along the concrete roads in the hamlet. Because he knows most of the households, he can easily identify any school-aged children gathering outside instead of studying at home. In such cases, he gently reminds them, and if they repeatedly violate the rules, he will contact the parents directly to work together on educating and correcting their behavior.

This is one of the daily tasks of Mr. K'Luận in his role as Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 4, a position he has devoted himself to for many years.

Helping students get to school

Every year, before the new school year begins and before the end of the first semester and the end of the school year, Mr. K'Luận is busy contacting friends everywhere to raise funds to buy new notebooks and textbooks; "refurbishing" old textbooks that have been donated… to send to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and students in the community who have achieved good academic results.

Mr. K'Luận said: Hamlet 4 has 487 families, of which 370 are from the Ma and S'tiêng ethnic groups. The lives of the people have improved compared to before, but many difficulties still remain. Therefore, the local government regularly encourages parents to pay attention to their children's education and mobilizes resources from other areas to support students. In recent years, many government policies prioritizing education in ethnic minority areas have been implemented, creating favorable conditions for children to attend school.

At the First Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Nai Province, term 2025-2030, Mr. K'Luan was one of 346 official delegates representing all strata of the people in the province attending the congress. According to Mr. K'Luan, participating in such a major provincial event is both an honor and a responsibility. Therefore, in addition to contributing to the congress's programs, Mr. K'Luan also connected with other delegates with the desire to share the beauty of community culture and call on everyone to pay attention to ethnic minority people in Ta Lai.

However, according to Mr. K'Luận, some people still have a reluctance to pursue long-term education, simply hoping their children will "know how to read and write" so they can start working early to help support their families. Therefore, he always considers promoting and encouraging a love of learning as the most important task in his work.

As the Head of the Front Committee in Hamlet 4, and a trusted figure among the community, Mr. K'Luận regularly informs people about the State's education policies for ethnic minorities. He helps each family understand the benefits of their children attending school and the importance of education for the future of the younger generation in the community. In addition, he encourages parents and students with small gifts, conversations, and explanations, helping them realize that education is readily available today, and that with effort, the path to school and a better future is always open.

However, instances of children dropping out of school still occasionally occur. Recently, upon discovering that two elementary school students were absent, he went to their homes to find out the reason. At the time, their parents were out working as laborers. He inquired with neighbors and learned from the two children themselves that the reason was their love of playing. After urging the children to return to class, that evening he met with the parents again to remind them to pay more attention to their children's studies and also gave the two children new school supplies.

Over the years, the number of times Mr. K'Luận has had to visit the homes of children who have dropped out of school to persuade or remind them to return has gradually decreased. He shared: "I hope I will no longer have to go to the homes of students who have dropped out halfway through their studies. I hope all children will study hard, so that evenings at the study table will be a familiar sight, with the sound of studying echoing throughout the village. Only by going to school can children hope to find better jobs in the future, especially for children in ethnic minority villages that still face many difficulties."

Mr. K'Cân, a respected figure among the ethnic minority community in Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune, commented: Thanks to the positive impact of Mr. K'Luận, along with many other factors, S'tiêng and Ma ethnic minority children are becoming more studious than before.

Together with the government, we will build sturdy houses for the people.

Besides accompanying his children to school, in his role as Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 4, Mr. K'Luận also carries out many community support activities. One of his notable contributions is that whenever a family receives financial assistance from the government to build a sturdy house, he and his group of young volunteers participate in moving soil, leveling the ground, and assisting with tasks requested by the construction workers.

During this process, his team provided their own meals, not bothering the homeowner with food and drinks, thus reducing costs so the family could soon have their dream home. At the same time, he mobilized friends to contribute bags of cement and blocks of sand to help the homeowner complete the house. On the day of handover, the village committee prepared gifts to congratulate the new homeowner, creating a warm and meaningful atmosphere within the community.

Ms. Ka Tờ (residing in Hamlet 4, Ta Lai Commune) said: Due to difficult circumstances, her family received financial assistance from the government to build a sturdy house. During the construction process, Mr. K'Luận mobilized additional building materials for her family and, along with other young people in the village, helped until everything was completed.

For families with elderly members who need hospital treatment but face financial difficulties, Mr. K'Luận mobilizes friends and relatives to contribute and support the timely transportation of patients for examination and treatment.

Mr. K'Luận shared: “The Fatherland Front is the center of unity, the ‘common home’ of all classes, ethnic groups, religions, and all strata of the people. In my role, I try to build a spirit of solidarity within the community through small actions that each individual and each family can do to help each other. This contributes to preserving the camaraderie and cultural beauty of the community in Hamlet 4.”
