Building a Boarding School in Quang Tri: Creating a Bright Future for Students

This is one of four boarding school projects built in Quang Tri province on this occasion.

Strategic move to create decent infrastructure

Huong Phung is one of the remote communes of Quang Tri province, an important area for security and defense.

Over the years, Quang Tri province has always paid attention to the task of ethnic education , gradually investing in facilities, consolidating the system of boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities, but with the increasingly growing population, the learning needs of ethnic minority children are increasing.

Perspective of Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Huong Phung Commune, Quang Tri).

In Huong Phung commune, there are currently about 2,530 high school students studying at all levels.

The infrastructure and teaching equipment of many schools in the area are still lacking. The living conditions of boarding students are still limited and not commensurate with the requirements of comprehensive educational development in the new period.

Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School, with a land area of about 100,000m2. The scale of the school in phase 1 is 40 classes, nearly 1,570 students (22 primary classes and 18 secondary classes). The total estimated investment is 360 billion VND.

The school will mobilize students from 4 existing schools in the area, including Huong Phung Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Huong Phung Primary School, Huong Son Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Huong Linh Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) and leaders of Quang Tri province presented gifts to students.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang - Principal of Huong Phung Primary School said that the school has 4 locations, including one central location and 3 locations in the villages. The construction of a boarding school will meet the learning needs of students and ensure the living conditions for students.

According to Mr. Ho Van Vinh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Huong Phung Commune, the Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is of great significance to the locality, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for the people and students in the border area. The locality actively coordinates with departments and branches to implement the necessary conditions for school construction.

For Quang Tri province, the simultaneous construction of boarding schools according to the policy of the Politburo is an opportunity to have spacious, modern educational facilities with full facilities of a general school.

This is also a concrete step in realizing the aspiration to improve people's knowledge, train human resources, foster talents, and build a fair, comprehensive, and modern education system on par with the region and the world.

Creating a breakthrough in developing the quality of education

Dr. Le Thi Huong - Director of the Department of Education and Training affirmed that schools are invested with modern equipment, helping students master knowledge through a harmonious combination of theory and practice, ensuring that learning goes hand in hand with practice, theory is closely linked to practice, and school is closely linked to society.

Leaders of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and provincial leaders presented gifts to students of Huong Phung commune.

At the same time, children have the opportunity to comprehensively develop their own abilities, especially their talents, thereby preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values of ethnic groups.

The formation of a school with a new model will create conditions for concentrating resources, teaching staff, connecting, sharing, innovating, and creating breakthroughs in developing the quality of education in ethnic minority mountainous and border areas.

When the construction is completed and the boarding schools in the Quang Tri border area are put into operation, it will create opportunities for thousands of high school students to have a complete, modern, and spacious learning environment, satisfying the wishes of students, people, and teachers in the border area as well as the whole province.

Previously, Quang Tri province started construction of three primary and secondary boarding schools in three border communes (Dakrong commune, Thuong Trach commune and Dan Hoa commune).

Mr. Tran Phong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province emphasized that these are works of profound political, social and humanistic significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the people, soldiers and children in the border areas of the Fatherland in general, as well as to Quang Tri province in particular.

Mr. Tran Phong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals.

Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has directed agencies, units and authorities of border communes to urgently survey, list and propose investment in 16 projects in the 2025 - 2026 period, with a total investment of about 3,338 billion VND, of which 4 projects will start construction in 2025.

Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project is one of the typical projects chosen by the province to start construction simultaneously today, along with many other localities across the country.

The foundation of the aspiration for sustainable development in border areas

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Minister of Agriculture and Environment emphasized that Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School is a project of special significance to the cause of education, human development and the future of the border region. This is the beginning of a new journey - a journey to cultivate knowledge, nurture dreams, and give wings to generations of students at the border of the Fatherland.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huong Phung Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities is a concrete step in implementing the Policy of building 248 inter-level boarding schools in border communes according to the Conclusion of the Politburo in Notice No. 81-TB/TU.

This is not only an investment policy in educational infrastructure, but also an outstanding social policy to create all favorable conditions for ethnic minority children to study and train in the best educational environment.

The construction of a primary and secondary boarding school in Huong Phung is extremely necessary and important, both meeting the learning needs of children and creating a solid foundation for national education.

The school provides equal learning opportunities for children of the Van Kieu, Pa Co and other ethnic groups, creating a bright future for thousands of students in the border area.
