Love for the homeland and national pride are always present in the hearts of Vietnamese people. For many international students, studying in an international environment not only opens up opportunities to access new knowledge, but also is an opportunity to introduce the image of Vietnam to friends around the world. Wherever they are, they still preserve their love for their homeland and wish to spread the good values of Vietnamese people and culture.

Recently, social networks have attracted attention with a video recording the presentation of a Vietnamese student studying in Korea. The presentation incorporates a short film recording the brilliant images of the parade, the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, along with the majestic natural scenery of Vietnam. This creative way of leading received positive responses from lecturers and students attending the class.

The presentation about Vietnam is being shared widely on social networks.

The author of this presentation is Hoang Thanh Dat (born 2003), currently a Korean international student, majoring in Korean Language and Culture at Catholic University (Korea). The video was posted by Thanh Dat on his personal Tiktok channel and quickly received many likes and comments.

The presentation was part of the Korean Playground event - a language competition organized by Catholic University (Korea) for international students. The event attracted nearly 600 participants, including lecturers of the school and international students from many countries around the world . Thanh Dat's performance was one of four performances selected for the final round of the competition.

The theme of the presentation was “Vietnam and the Era of Rising” which Thanh Dat came up with and prepared within a month. In addition to the content promoting the country’s image, the highlight of the presentation was a video recreating the A80 ceremony, along with famous natural scenes of Vietnam, combined with the song Hello Vietnam which Thanh Dat translated into Korean and performed himself.

To make the presentation more attractive, Thanh Dat searched for materials from domestic content creators, then edited, produced and integrated them to create a product suitable for the presentation content.

The song Hello Vietnam that ended the presentation also received many positive responses. Thanh Dat said that during the preparation process, he could not find the Korean version of the song so he translated the lyrics himself. Thanh Dat spent a lot of time selecting the words, ensuring that the translation still retained the spirit and emotion of the original song.

As an international student, Thanh Dat regularly follows the news and the situation in the country through the media. This year, the country has many important events such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. Because he is studying abroad, the male student regrets not being able to attend in person.

When he learned about the language competition for international students, Thanh Dat came up with the idea of making a presentation with the desire to recreate the atmosphere of those events, spreading national pride to international friends. Besides, he also wanted to join in the joy like the Vietnamese people in his homeland.

Although he did not win any prizes in the competition, Thanh Dat's presentation still received much love from the audience and enthusiastic support from the Vietnamese online community.

"I got a prize bigger than the first prize, which was the compliments and reception from many people in my hometown when they saw my presentation," Thanh Dat shared.

Thanh Dat is focusing on studying in Korea and expressed his wish that after completing the program, he will return to Vietnam to work and contribute to his homeland.
