On the morning of November 7, in Hanoi, the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, the Department of Environment, the Department of Climate Change ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) jointly organized the Forum "Green Energy - Clean City".
The event gathered representatives of state management agencies, experts, scientists , businesses and international organizations to attend and exchange solutions for green energy development and sustainable urban construction.
Opening speech, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh emphasized: In the context of the world facing climate change, environmental pollution and resource depletion, choosing a green development path and transitioning to clean energy is an inevitable trend and a common responsibility of countries.
Vietnam has issued many major policies such as the Law on Environmental Protection in 2020, the National Strategy on Climate Change towards net zero emissions by 2050, and the National Action Plans on greenhouse gas emission reduction. This is a solid foundation to promote the green economy, circular economy, low-carbon economy, towards the goal of "a green, clean, livable Vietnam".

According to Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh, the development of green energy not only contributes to reducing emissions and ensuring energy security, but also opens up a sustainable direction for large cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong... in the process of building "clean cities", where people can live in a safe, clean and prosperous environment.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, shared that the forum was organized to open up a space for exchange, sharing and connecting relevant parties, from management agencies, scientists, businesses to the community, to join hands in building green, clean and smart cities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, when every city, business, and citizen acts together for green energy, "Clean City" will not just be a slogan, but will become a reality in every street, roof, and rhythm of life.
At the forum, delegates discussed many contents: Developing a clean energy ecosystem; encouraging the use of standard fuel; increasing the application of green technology in transportation, construction and urban management; proposing policy mechanisms to promote green energy conversion, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's Net Zero 2050 commitment.
Delegates recommended that the State continue to improve policies and emission standards and support clean energy conversion; businesses promote investment in green technology and efficient energy use; organizations and associations spread connections between policies, businesses and the community; and the press take the lead in communication, raising social awareness and arousing the spirit of action for a green future.
The “Green Energy - Clean City” Forum is not only a place to share ideas, but also the starting point for a series of specific actions, aiming towards the goal of sustainable development, green growth and net zero emissions by 2050.
