Nghe Tinh Port celebrates 70th anniversary of establishment and receives Second Class Labor Medal

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Phan Duc Dong - Secretary of the Party Committee of Truong Vinh Ward; Hoang Quoc Viet - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Over the past 70 years, Nghe Tinh Port has not only been a business, but also a part of the cultural, spiritual and historical heritage of the heroic Soviet land. During the most fierce years of the destructive war of the American empire, Port workers, with the spirit of “hammer in one hand, gun in the other”, both produced and fought.

Peace was restored, the country entered a period of renovation, implementing the Party and State's policies, Nghe Tinh Port gradually transformed from a centralized subsidy mechanism to independent and autonomous business accounting. Right from the early years of the 90s, the Company carried out business restructuring; through many transformations, by 2015, the enterprise equitization was completed.

From a small port, Nghe Tinh Port has grown strongly to become a seaport company, a regional logistics center, an important link in the national transport system, connecting Nghe An province with key economic zones domestically and internationally.

Being a port awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; playing a strategic role over the past decades in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; being a gathering place for forces to protect the sea, ports, economic establishments..., Nghe Tinh Port has always affirmed its important position. From the initial few tons of goods, up to now, the cargo output through the Port has reached nearly 5 million tons per year, being the only seaport enterprise in the North Central region to fully receive both international and domestic container ships.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company Le Doan Long delivered a speech reviewing the 70-year history of Nghe Tinh Port. With the goal of being a logistics supply chain coordination center, Nghe Tinh Port is committed to focusing on three main pillars: First, continuing to modernize infrastructure, especially focusing resources on projects to upgrade the Wharf to be able to receive ships with a capacity of 50,000 DWT, worthy of being an international commercial port in the region. Second, promoting digital transformation, applying advanced technology in management and operation, building a "smart port, green port" model, improving competitiveness and integration. Third, constantly expanding inter-regional logistics connections, becoming a reliable hub on the East-West economic corridor; the most important gateway in the goods supply chain of the Thanh - Nghe - Tinh region with countries around the world.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the great efforts and contributions of generations of cadres, workers and employees of Nghe Tinh Port over the past 70 years.

Comrade Hoang Phu Hien affirmed that Nghe Tinh Port is not only the pride of the maritime industry but also a symbol of the will, creative working spirit and aspiration of the people of Nghe An. The Port's contributions have significantly contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of the province, especially in the field of logistics and maritime trade in the North Central region.

Comrade Hoang Phu Hien emphasized that in the context of deep integration and increasingly fierce competition, Nghe Tinh Port needs to continue to promote its heroic tradition, promote innovation in corporate governance, strongly apply digital technology, improve service quality, and move towards sustainable development. Nghe An province will always accompany and create favorable conditions for the Port to continue to expand its infrastructure, attract international shipping routes, and affirm its role as a strategic trade gateway of the region.

On this occasion, Nghe Tinh Port was honored to receive the noble award from the Party and the State - Second Class Labor Medal. This is a recognition of the tireless efforts, strong will, bravery and aspiration to rise of a heroic collective in Nghe An land.
The leaders of Nghe Tinh Port also received a flower basket from Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, congratulating the Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its establishment and receiving the Second Class Labor Medal.
