EVNGENCO2 proactively deploys response scenarios for storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi)

On the morning of November 5, 2025, Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) held an urgent meeting to review preparations and proactively respond to storm No. 13 (international name: Kalmaegi). The meeting was chaired by General Director Nguyen Huu Thinh, with the participation of Deputy General Director Ngo Viet Hung - Head of EVNGENCO2 Civil Defense Command, representatives of the Technical and Safety Department, the Corporation Office and leaders of member hydropower companies in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

EVNGENCO2 held an online meeting to review preparations for responding to storm Kalmaegi.

At the meeting, the Technical and Safety Board reported on the operation of reservoirs in the face of the complicated developments of storms and floods in recent days. The units have implemented the instructions of the local Civil Defense Command, deployed solutions to lower the reservoir water level to the flood-receiving level, ensuring flood prevention capacity according to the inter-reservoir operation process. Some areas at the Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4, and A Vuong Hydropower Plants have experienced landslides on the operating roads, and the units have arranged forces and mechanical vehicles to check and clear the route. However, the units need to ensure absolute safety for people and equipment during the implementation process.

Speaking at the meeting, General Director Nguyen Huu Thinh emphasized the need to strictly implement the "4 on-site" motto - on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means and on-site logistics. Unit leaders must be present at the headquarters and the scene before, during and after the storm to direct and coordinate departments and workshops to promptly handle situations, and coordinate well with inspection teams of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), EVNGENCO2 and local authorities. At the same time, information and communication work needs to be deployed promptly and accurately, contributing to raising public awareness and ensuring stable public opinion in the context of extreme weather.

Previously, on November 4, 2025, the EVNGENCO2 Civil Defense Command issued an urgent dispatch requesting the entire Corporation to urgently deploy preventive measures and be ready to respond to storm Kalmaegi; strengthen monitoring of meteorological forecasts, ensure construction safety, downstream safety, and reliable operation of power plants; and at the same time launch a movement to support people in the Central region to overcome the consequences of floods.

EVNGENCO2 affirms that it is always proactive, resolute, and responsible in natural disaster prevention, ensuring dam safety, and stable operation of the power system, contributing to protecting people and property in downstream areas.
