Earlier, at around 4am the same day, the Dot River water level began to rise, causing local flooding in many residential areas. The People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam commune mobilized households in areas at risk of flooding to evacuate to safe places. However, some households remained complacent, believing that the water level would not rise.

At around 10am, the water continued to rise, reaching over 1 meter in some places, leaving many people isolated and unable to move out on their own. Immediately afterwards, jet skis from tourism agencies in Mui Ne were mobilized, traveling over 50km into the flooded area to support the rescue work.

Thanks to this vehicle, many elderly people, children and a newborn baby were brought out of the danger zone to safety. By 13:00 on the same day, more than 20 people had been brought out of the flooded area to safety. Local forces organized to welcome people to shore, arranged temporary accommodation and provided necessary supplies.
Currently, the water level in the area is still rising. The Commune People's Committee and functional forces have directly gone by canoe into the deeply flooded area, resolutely mobilizing and evacuating people from the danger zone to ensure their safety.
