Prosecution of subjects having sexual intercourse with children

On November 9, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced that it had issued decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute an arrest warrant to detain Huynh Van Nhi, 33 years old, residing in My Phuoc commune (Can Tho city) to investigate the act of having sexual intercourse with a person from 13 to under 16 years old.

The Provincial Police Investigation Agency served the decisions on Huynh Van Nhi.

According to the initial investigation, around July 2025, through social networks, Huynh Van Nhi met and developed feelings for P, 13 years old, living in An Giang province. On August 27, 2025, the defendant lured P to a motel in Kien Luong commune to rent a room, where the two had sex many times.

By the end of September 2025, P's relatives discovered the incident and reported it to Kien Luong Commune Police. Based on documents, evidence, the defendant's testimony and the results of the competent authorities' appraisal, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency initiated a case, prosecuted the defendant and executed an arrest warrant to detain Huynh Van Nhi.

The case is currently being investigated, clarified and handled by the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police according to the provisions of law.
