An Giang teachers and parents are excited about the boarding school in the border area.

On November 9, An Giang province simultaneously started construction of three projects to build inter-level boarding schools in the border communes of Vinh Gia, Giang Thanh and Khanh Binh. These are schools in the "Inter-level boarding school project in land border communes".

Excited about the groundbreaking day of the border boarding school

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Vinh Gia Inter-level Boarding School (Vinh Gia commune) was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc; Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai; Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung, along with a large number of teachers, students and people.

The Vinh Gia Inter-level Boarding School Project was formed from the merger of Luong An Tra Primary School B and Luong An Tra Secondary School, built on an area of 4.3 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 187 billion VND from the budget. After completion, the school will have 45 classes and 1,500 students.

In addition to renovating old buildings and buildings, the school will build a new administrative block; 13 classrooms, a music room; male and female dormitories; a 330-seat dining hall, a multi-purpose hall and other technical works; and equipment meeting national standards at level 2.

The project is being constructed by a joint venture between HAG Investment and Construction Consulting Co., Ltd. and Cong Dat Co., Ltd. and is expected to be completed and put into use in mid-2026.

Mr. Pham Thanh Binh, Principal of Luong An Tra Secondary School, said that most of the teachers and staff of the school come from other places to work, so they face many difficulties. Many teachers have to rent accommodation, affecting their daily lives. Students from other areas come to study, but it is difficult to travel, many children in difficult circumstances have to follow their parents to work far away, so they have to drop out of school. Investing in a modern, synchronous, fully-equipped boarding school will help the school improve the quality of comprehensive education, helping students to study, practice and live in a favorable environment for development.

Nguyen Hao Nam, class 6A1, Luong An Tra Secondary School, said: "My friends and I are very happy to be studying at a school with spacious, modern facilities and to be able to eat and stay at school. We will be assured to study well so that we can help our homeland and country in the future."

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thoi (residing in Giong Cat hamlet, Vinh Gia commune, An Giang province), whose child is in grade 7 at Luong An Tra secondary school, shared: "I am very happy because the school has been invested in a new, more spacious and complete construction. When the new school is completed, our children will be able to eat and rest at school. There will no longer be a situation where students who live far from school have to go to school 2 sessions without a place to rest at noon and have to stay at a relative's house or rest at a restaurant, tired and ineffective in studying. Having a new school will help parents feel secure in working and developing the economy. I hope the construction unit will ensure the right schedule to put it into service."

Sharing the joy at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ms. Ngo Thi Cam, a teacher at Luong An Tra Secondary School, said: "The school's teachers are very excited that the school has been invested in and built into a boarding school, with more spacious and modern facilities. This is a condition for the school's teachers to feel secure in teaching, innovating, creating and improving the overall teaching quality for students, contributing to improving the people's knowledge."

Border schools have appropriate policies.

An Giang is a province with a large area and diverse terrain, 14 communes and wards bordering Cambodia with a total length of more than 160 km. The lives of people living along the border are still difficult, and the learning conditions of their children are lacking. Therefore, the policy of building boarding schools in the border communes is of great significance.

From the groundbreaking of the first 3 border schools today, the department will evaluate the operating model to continue building the surveyed border schools in the coming period."

At the groundbreaking ceremony of Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son awarded 20 scholarships to excellent students and students in difficult circumstances and 10 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to teachers facing difficulties.

On the same morning, An Giang province held a groundbreaking ceremony for Giang Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Giang Thanh commune) with a total cost of over 187 billion VND and Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Khanh Binh commune) with a total cost of nearly 15 billion VND.
