On the morning of November 7, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting to celebrate the 108th anniversary of the Great October Revolution in Russia (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2025).
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Minh Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the October Revolution in Russia 108 years ago was one of the greatest events of the 20th century.
In Vietnam, the Russian October Revolution has a special significance and great influence on the revolutionary process and subsequent development of Vietnam.
The October Revolution in Russia also laid the foundation for the good traditional relationship between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples.
Mr. Hoang Minh Nhan affirmed that the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City will closely coordinate with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the City as well as relevant agencies to promote activities to deepen the close friendship between the people of the city and the people of Russian localities in particular and between the people of Vietnam and the people of Russia in general, for the happiness and prosperity of the two countries, for peace , stability and development in the region and the whole world.
Thanking the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the meeting to commemorate a great historical milestone of Russia, Mr. Timur Sirozhevich, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the October Revolution 108 years ago created a strong impetus for the national liberation movement around the world , when progressive nations affirmed their right to freedom of development, self-determination and independence.

Mr. Timur Sirozhevich was moved to quote President Ho Chi Minh in his work “ The Revolutionary Path ” stating that “Only by following the path of the October Revolution - the only correct path, can the Vietnamese revolution gain true independence and freedom,” demonstrating the great significance of the October Revolution not only for Russia but also for the Vietnamese and world revolutions.
“We can especially clearly observe the results of the processes initiated by the October Revolution through the example of the Vietnamese people - who have transformed a backward agricultural country into a developed industrial socialist country and are showing an amazing speed of socio-economic development,” the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City emphasized.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) awarded the Medal "For Peace and Friendship among Nations" to Mr. Timur Sirozhevich, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, for his active and effective contributions to promoting the friendly and cooperative relations between the people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation./.
