On November 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam to organize the second "Vietnam-EU Day: Cultural bridge for a sustainable future" event in Yen Tu (Quang Ninh).
The event took place on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-EU diplomatic relations, an important milestone to look back on the achievements of comprehensive cooperation from politics , diplomacy to trade, investment, education and culture, demonstrated through trust, respect and connection between the people of both sides.
The selection of Yen Tu, the origin of Truc Lam Zen, to be listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO on July 12 has profound symbolic significance, affirming that economic development must be associated with preserving identity, respecting nature and promoting sustainable development.
Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam and Europe have a deep and close historical relationship, experiencing ups and downs with many memorable marks. After 35 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the two sides have achieved many important achievements, especially since upgrading to a comprehensive partnership and cooperation in 2012.
Cultural and people-to-people exchanges have always been the connecting pillars that create strong relationships. Vietnam has been putting cultural and human development on par with economic, political and social development, considering this as the foundation, the internal strength and the great driving force for the country's rapid and sustainable development.
The general message sent is: Culture is the root of development, the bridge connecting people and the path to a sustainable future.

The event was a great success, contributing to promoting understanding and cooperation between Quang Ninh province, Vietnamese localities and the European Union Delegation, European Embassies in Hanoi, contributing to the comprehensive partnership and cooperation that is moving towards a new height.
Mr. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam, expressed his appreciation for Vietnam's cooperation and hospitality, and considered Vietnam a key and reliable partner of the EU.
2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-EU diplomatic relations, marking an increasingly strong and dynamic relationship.
The EU has signed many bilateral agreements with Vietnam, notably the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. He also affirmed that the EU and Vietnam are working together to upgrade their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership…
For Quang Ninh province, culture is always identified as the spiritual foundation of society, the goal and driving force for sustainable development.
Favored by nature, Quang Ninh has 2 World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO, namely Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu-Con Son-Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex; 641 relics, 362 intangible cultural heritages, and rich identities of 43 ethnic groups. This is a special resource for Quang Ninh to develop cultural industry, heritage tourism, and green tourism.
In recent years, Quang Ninh has proactively implemented many major programs and projects on cultural and human development associated with international integration. Cultural and artistic festivals such as Ha Long Carnival, Hokkaido Festival, Golden Camellia Festival, concerts, music festivals, etc. have become brands, creating tourist attraction and promoting the image of a dynamic, creative, and friendly Quang Ninh.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Van Cong emphasized that the province has taken the lead in innovating development thinking, firmly following the green growth path, transforming from the "brown" to the "green" model, taking people as the center, culture as the foundation and sustainability as the goal.
Quang Ninh is actively integrating and expanding international cooperation, in which the EU is an important strategic partner in the fields of renewable energy, heritage tourism, green economy, digital transformation, human resource training and cultural cooperation.
The province hopes that through the event, there will be more opportunities to exchange, connect and cooperate with European partners to implement many sustainable development projects./.
