Da Nang implements response plan for typhoon No. 13.

On November 5th, the Da Nang City People's Committee issued document 3567 to implement the plan for responding to typhoon number 13 (Kalmaegi).

The official document states that, according to the Central Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Station's bulletin, Typhoon No. 13 is moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 20-25 km/hour, with the possibility of strengthening to level 14-17, and is expected to directly affect the area from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak .

In particular, Da Nang was affected by strong winds of force 8-10, gusting to force 11-12, and heavy rainfall of 100-300mm, with some areas receiving over 400mm.

To proactively implement the response, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the City Military Command, the City Police, departments, agencies, the People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones, and relevant units to seriously implement the response plan to typhoon No. 13.

The City Military Command, the City Police, departments, agencies, the People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones, and relevant units, based on the City People's Committee's plan to respond to Typhoon No. 13 and the actual situation of the locality, shall urgently develop specific plans for responding to Typhoon No. 13 at the sectoral, local, and unit levels to ensure timely and effective implementation.

Specifically, it is necessary to urgently inspect and review areas and locations at high risk of landslides, flooding, and flash floods in order to evacuate and relocate people to safe places, completing the relocation before 12:00 PM on November 6th.

During the implementation process, if any difficulties or obstacles arise, report them to the City People's Committee, the City Civil Defense Command, and through the Military Command and the Department of Agriculture and Environment (the agency advising on disaster prevention and control) for consideration and guidance.
