Travel passport - preserving your memories with photos.

The DanangBooth project, "DanangBooth - A model connecting passports, photobooths, and a digital travel sharing platform," has just won first prize in the "Student Entrepreneurship - BK SHARK 2026" competition, surpassing 35 other teams (with over 140 students) from various universities in Da Nang.

Beyond the scope of the competition, the project affirms the spirit of innovation, creativity, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship of the city's youth.

Marking the journey of experiences.

DanangBooth is a smart experiential tourism ecosystem operating on an O2O (Online-to-Offline) model. The project creates a strong connection between unique physical souvenirs and a digital journey platform through a "one-touch" identification solution.

The journey begins when travelers purchase a physical "Experience Passport" and immediately activate their Web-App account on the passport without complicated registration. At each destination, travelers use this passport to have their photos printed instantly at photobooth stations, personally attach the photos, and affix a physical stamp to preserve their on-site memories.

Simultaneously, the digital platform will automatically update the digital log, unlock the travel map, and suggest intelligent routes ( food , culture, entertainment) along the way.

The in-person check-in and points accumulation system also allows travelers to redeem discount vouchers from a network of local partners. At the end of the trip, the system provides a visual "Travel Card" with unique details, making it easy for travelers to share and spread their exploration stories on social media.

“The core product of the project is a model combining a photobooth network and a travel passport, operated through linked services: Smart identification solution, field interaction station, maps, and digital logbook,” said Doan Hoang Thien Phu, Head of the DanangBooth team.

According to the research team, this is very convenient for tourists, especially young people, as they can both capture beautiful images and moments and also refer to the next steps of their trip.

For local businesses, proactively redirecting transient tourists from public places into actual customers will boost sustainable revenue; optimize services and gain a deep understanding of consumer behavior based on digitized data to personalize promotional programs.

The long-term goal is to become a leading physical tourism memory landmark in Vietnam, strongly supporting the development of the digital economy and the local economy.

The project development roadmap includes finalizing the software and conducting field trials in the Han River area in June. Following that, coverage will be extended to iconic landmarks in Da Nang (Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge, Son Tra Night Market, My Khe Beach, Linh Ung Pagoda, Marble Mountains, Hai Van Pass, etc.) and standardized for inter-provincial expansion.

The desire for innovation among young people.

Team leader Thien Phu shared that the idea originated from the team's own field experience while directly operating a photobooth service on Bach Dang pedestrian street. During that process, the team realized there was a great need for tourists, both domestic and international, to preserve physical mementos.

Just as the BK SHARK 2026 Student Entrepreneurship Competition, organized by the University of Technology, opened for registration, the members came together to find ways to elevate this model to a larger-scale ecosystem.

Recognizing that the "passport" model had been successfully applied in some limited areas, such as culinary passports or job fairs (DUT JobFair), the team conceived the idea of expanding this component into a "Local Tourism Experience Passport." They also integrated a comprehensive digital solution. This combination optimizes convenience, aligns with technology-driven consumer trends, and creates a smart journey navigation funnel, delivering interconnected economic value to local tourism businesses.

The team spent approximately three months of continuous effort, from the initial conceptual sketches to the complete development of the product ecosystem, business model, and technological infrastructure.

Beyond their professional background, intensive training courses on entrepreneurship, solution design, and go-to-market strategies, along with pitching and critique sessions from Shark Tank within the framework of the BK SHARK 2026 competition, have helped engineering students quickly refine their problems and develop practical, market-appropriate solutions.

The project's success is not only due to the efforts of its members, but also a clear testament to the quality of practical training at the Faculty of Information Technology. Throughout the journey of bringing the project from classroom code to the real market and achieving real revenue, the team consistently received strong support from its in-depth knowledge base and, especially, the unwavering companionship and support from its professors.
