On the morning of May 31st (the 15th day of the 4th lunar month), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly organized the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570, at Vietnam National Pagoda (Hoa Hung Ward) to commemorate the birth of Shakyamuni Buddha.

In his message for the 2570th anniversary of the Buddha's birth, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Venerable Thich Tri Quang, emphasized: "In 2026, Vietnam will enter a new phase after the reorganization of administrative boundaries, the consolidation of personnel, and the amendment and adoption of several laws, with the determination to strive for development. Looking back at history and the teachings of the Buddha, we believe that when all decisions are based on the people and for their benefit, there will be harmony, consensus, and unity, and success will certainly be achieved."
The Dharma Master conveyed the message: Every Buddhist disciple should be more enthusiastic in applying the Buddha's teachings, together lighting the lamp of compassion, so that this light may spread, warm everyone, and make life better.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Bay, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, expressed his hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Association would continue to uphold its patriotic traditions, remain closely connected to and accompany the nation. In particular, he hoped that the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Association would continue to make positive contributions to the city's development in the new phase, as the locality expands its development space after the administrative reorganization with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Venerable Thich Thien Nhon shared: "With a historical tradition spanning two thousand years, Vietnamese Buddhism has always prioritized the spirit of protecting the nation and ensuring the well-being of the people. In every stage of nation-building and national defense, Buddhism has always been the foundation of morality, culture, and spirituality, nurturing the sacred spirit of the nation, fostering patriotism, unity, tolerance, and compassion among the Vietnamese people."

Buddhists chanted the Buddha's Birthday prayer in unison in a solemn atmosphere.

At the end of the ceremony, hundreds of Buddhists lined up to ascend the platform to pay homage to the statue of Buddha.

Kim Phụng was moved to attend the sacred ceremony, praying for peace and happiness for her family and those around her.

During the week of Buddha's Birthday (2570), many solemn and sacred activities took place throughout the country.
