

Attending the Grand Ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, former Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Head of the Provincial Religious Affairs Steering Committee; Ms. Quach Thi Huong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Principal of the Nguyen Van Linh Political School; Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of My Hao Ward; Venerable Thich Thanh Hien, Standing Member of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; provincial departments, agencies, and armed forces; along with venerable monks and nuns and a large number of Buddhists from within and outside the province.

In a solemn atmosphere, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province performed many meaningful rituals such as: reciting Buddhist prayers for blessings and national peace; reading the message for the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration 2570 (Buddhist calendar) – 2026 (Gregorian calendar) from the Venerable Abbot, Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; reading the speech for the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration 2570 (Buddhist calendar) – 2026 (Gregorian calendar) from the Venerable Vice Abbot, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; offering incense and performing the ritual of bathing the Buddha.


Vesak, also known as Buddha's Birthday, is a major and sacred event celebrated annually by monks, nuns, and Buddhists worldwide . Vesak commemorates three significant events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and death. Nirvana. The grand ceremony is an opportunity for monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to reflect on the profound humanistic values of Buddhism, spreading the spirit of compassion, wisdom, harmony, and goodness within the community. Through this, Buddhist followers continue to uphold the tradition of solidarity and companionship with the nation, working together to build a more prosperous and developed homeland.

Speaking at the Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Comrade Tran Quoc Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, and Head of the Provincial Religious Affairs Steering Committee, acknowledged, praised, and highly appreciated the important contributions of the Venerable monks and nuns, as well as all Buddhist followers in the province. He affirmed that the province will continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for Buddhism in Hung Yen to operate and develop sustainably. The Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist calendar 2570 – Gregorian calendar 2026, takes place at a historically significant time, marking the beginning of the "Era of Striving" for the nation. The celebration, with its spirit of compassion, wisdom, selflessness, and goodness, emphasizes unity and harmony, reminding the community to work together to shoulder social responsibility and help those in difficult circumstances. This event is also an opportunity for Buddhists and the community to pray for national peace and prosperity, world peace, and to spread love for all beings. This is also a rich spiritual and cultural heritage, creating a peaceful festival space with many meaningful activities. These values not only have profound significance in religious life but also contribute positively to building a stable, humane, and sustainable society. The Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province have actively responded to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, such as: building "Four Model Temples," "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life," "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas," social welfare work, charity, and humanitarian work... thereby contributing to motivating monks, nuns, and Buddhists to exemplary implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and local regulations; and to effectively implement the resolutions and charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. Strengthening harmony within the monastic community, building a stronger and more vibrant Sangha; encouraging followers, Buddhists, and the people to help each other develop the economy , reduce poverty sustainably, and achieve legitimate wealth, and build a strong unity in residential areas. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, all levels, sectors, and localities in the province have effectively implemented solutions and achieved many positive socio-economic results, including the very important contributions of the Provincial Buddhist Association, the venerable monks and nuns, and the Buddhist people of the province. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Head of the Provincial Religious Affairs Steering Committee hopes that the Provincial Buddhist Association will continue to uphold its fine traditions, mobilize monks, nuns, and Buddhists to strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns; and contribute to maintaining security and order. Building cultural life in residential areas; promoting religious and national unity; and continuing to guide Buddhists in practicing the true Dharma, spreading the values of compassion, wisdom, and humanity of Buddhism into social life, contributing to building a healthy and progressive cultural environment.
On this occasion, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province donated funds to support the construction of a charitable house in Chi Minh commune worth 200 million VND and 208 gifts to poor students and students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies, totaling 250 million VND.
