Upon arriving in Hoa Binh village, we clearly felt the changes in the rural landscape. The inter-village roads were swept clean, the trees were carefully tended, and many households proactively planted flowers and ornamental plants in front of their houses to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment. Ms. Bui Thi Thim said: "Every day I spend time sweeping the house, taking care of the trees, and cleaning the alleyways. Previously, my family always maintained cleanliness, but since the women's association launched the 'Clean House, Beautiful Alley' model, everyone's awareness has improved. The women in the branch regularly remind each other to sweep the village roads and sort waste at home. Organic waste is composted to make fertilizer, while recyclable waste is collected and sold to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances. This is a very practical initiative, so everyone agrees and participates."

Beyond simply maintaining cleanliness within their own homes, the women's association members in the village actively participate in caring for the self-managed flower and tree-lined roads. On the 15th of every month, the women work together to weed, trim ornamental plants, and clean up along the roads. Ms. Ngo Thi Nhi, Head of the Hoa Binh Village Women's Association, said: "From the very beginning of the model's implementation, the association has focused on raising awareness among members about the importance of maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful living environment. We encourage women to sort waste at source, regularly clean their houses and alleys, and care for the flower-lined roads. Specifically, in 2024, after the village road was upgraded, the association proactively mobilized social resources to plant 120 Terminalia catappa trees and 120 pots of bougainvillea along the more than 700-meter-long road passing through residential areas No. 13 and 15. To date, the road is not only more attractive but has also become a highlight of the local landscape." Currently, the entire branch has 35 households that have been awarded the "Clean House, Beautiful Alley" plaque. In addition, villagers are actively implementing the model by donating land to expand rural roads. For example, in residential area No. 9, more than 30 households voluntarily donated over 150m² of land to expand the road from 3.1m to 4.5m; they also voluntarily contributed funds and labor totaling approximately 300 million VND to complete the project, contributing to building bright, green, clean, and beautiful village roads and alleys.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Thom, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Binh Dinh commune: The "Clean House, Beautiful Alley" model has been implemented since 2023, and to date, over 3,000 households have participated, with more than 300 households receiving recognition. Initially, the implementation faced many difficulties as some households were hesitant to participate. However, through propaganda and mobilization efforts, people gradually understood the practical significance of the model and actively responded. To ensure the model's sustainable effectiveness, the Women's Union of the commune also coordinated training courses on sorting and processing household waste at source; and provided compost bins for members participating in the model. At the same time, they maintained the effective "Turning Waste into Money" movement, collecting recyclable waste to raise funds to help poor women and children and support environmental protection activities. In particular, the association also links the implementation of the model with movements such as building new rural areas, "Families with 5 no's and 3 clean's", "Women's self-managed roads", and "Women's branches protecting the environment", contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of members and people in building a civilized, clean and beautiful living environment.

The "Clean House, Beautiful Alley" model not only creates a new look for the countryside of Binh Dinh but also contributes to forming a civilized lifestyle and raising community awareness in environmental protection. Through simple daily actions, the people here are working together to build green, clean, and beautiful residential areas, contributing to the development of Binh Dinh commune and making it a desirable place to live.
