In 2022, the Muong Lum - Ban Cam route was started to be built, not only helping people travel conveniently but also opening up opportunities for socio -economic development, contributing to improving material and spiritual life, while promoting the process of building new rural areas in the locality. The Muong Lum Kindergarten - Primary School has been invested in and completed in a spacious manner. Children are happy to study, parents are assured to work and produce, creating a peaceful life on this highland land.

Together with the Head of Sung Vu village, we visited the newly built “happy houses” thanks to the “Elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses” program. The old, dilapidated wooden houses have been replaced by solid, sturdy roofs, not only helping people have a stable place to live but also giving them more confidence and motivation to work and produce with peace of mind, gradually improving their lives, towards the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.
In the new house of Mrs. Hang Dua's family, we saw a new set of tables and chairs and neatly stacked bags of rice in the corner of the house - evidence of a bumper crop, the result of months of hard work. Mrs. Dua shared: "Before, in the old house, the winter wind was very cold, when the State supported the funding, my family was able to build a new, more spacious house, everyone in the family was happy. With a solid house, we can work and produce with peace of mind, and strive to improve ourselves."

In April 2025, Giang Pao's family also started building a new house, which is now almost completed. Pao excitedly said: "With the State's support of 60 million VND, my family saved more than 200 million VND to build this house. Now that we have a spacious house, if we encounter rain, wind, storms or floods, we will be safer. I am very grateful to the Party and State for their attention."
Thanks to the support from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, up to now, 17 poor and near-poor households in Muong Lum village are living in solid and spacious houses. Mr. Sung Vu - Head of Muong Lum village, shared: "About 7-8 years ago, Muong Lum was a particularly difficult village, but now life here has changed a lot. Many households have eliminated temporary houses; the village has convenient traffic routes, electricity, Internet coverage... As the village head, I regularly propagate and mobilize people to well implement the Party's policies, the State's policies, and local regulations; actively work in production, strive to reduce poverty; build a prosperous and happy family...".

In each house, the lifestyle of Muong Lum people has also had many positive changes. Departments, branches and organizations regularly propagate, help people understand the policies and laws of the State and build a cultural life. People are increasingly concerned about environmental sanitation, take their children to the health station for examination and full vaccination. Thanks to that, the rate of malnourished children has decreased, the village has gradually eliminated backward customs such as early marriage, funerals held for many days...
More happily, many young people in Muong Lum have boldly gone to work abroad under contracts thanks to the State's preferential loan support policy. The whole village currently has 16 workers working abroad, helping to improve the family economy and change the awareness of the young generation.
The head of Sung Vu village hopes that his hometown Muong Lum will become more and more known, not only to develop community tourism but also to promote unique cultural values, contributing to improving material and spiritual life.
Muong Lum village still has 30 poor households, there are still many difficulties ahead, but with the consensus and diligence of the people, along with the timely attention and support of the local government, we believe that this highland village will increasingly prosper, and the lives of the people will become more prosperous and happier.
