On November 5, HK01 newspaper reported that Hong Kong actor Lam Suong Vu suddenly passed away due to a heart attack on November 4, at the age of 75.
His passing shocked the public and his colleagues. On social networks, many viewers left heartbreaking comments: "My childhood was him in The Legend of the Condor Heroes "; "A devoted artist, a resilient warrior, farewell"...
Devote a life to art
Born and raised in the golden age of Hong Kong art, Lam is one of the pillars of the drama world. After graduating from university, he joined the Hong Kong Drama Group, starting his acting career with a series of highly appreciated stage roles.
In 1989, he joined TVB, marking a major turning point in his career. The first film he participated in was The Fiery Years .
During his 7 years with TVB, Lam Thuong Vu has appeared in more than 40 TV series. Among them, his most prominent role was Khau Xu Co in Legend of the Condor Heroes (1994). This is also the image that has become associated with his name.

After leaving TVB in 1996, Lam Thuong Vu rarely appeared in public but remained involved in the arts through stage activities, scriptwriting and music writing.
According to Jimu News , Lam Thuong Vu's life is a long journey of overcoming adversity.
His mother died of nasopharyngeal cancer and in 1994 he was diagnosed with the disease himself. After intensive treatment, he recovered but had to live with the after-effects of cervical nerve damage, making his voice difficult to hear.
Although he once shared that he still "missed the stage terribly", he was forced to turn down film invitations because his health did not allow it. Unable to teach or perform, he turned to writing scripts, composing music and poetry, continuing to live with art in his own way.

In 2004, a bout of flu caused bacteria to enter his right ear, leading to hearing loss. In 2009, he suffered from chronic migraines and had to disband the theater troupe he founded. There was a time when he lived for nearly 10 months as both deaf and mute, but he remained optimistic.
In recent years, despite his declining health, he still shares poems and philosophical articles on social networks and opens his own YouTube channel, spreading positive energy to fans.
Lam Thuong Vu’s last public appearance was in 2017 at a fundraising performance for the university he attended. The image of the skinny artist, wearing a hearing aid but still smiling warmly when talking about the stage moved many viewers.
