On November 4, which marked the 77th birthday of artist Hua Thieu Hung, his daughter Charmaine expressed her sadness at not being able to celebrate the new year with her father. She posted a childhood photo with the veteran actor, sending an emotional message to her late father: "Dad, today is your birthday. The past few days have not been real at all. I just hope that now you are free, comfortable, and at peace to go where you need to go. When you are no longer here, I always tell myself that you are just going to work," Charmaine wrote on Instagram.

Xu Shao-Hung's daughter also sent her thanks for the love, encouragement and comfort from relatives and even people she had never met. "I'm sorry I can't thank everyone one by one, but I will always remember everyone's kindness and concern," Charmaine shared.
