This work aims to support people to gradually switch to sustainable production methods to increase product value and protect the environment.
Mr. Huynh Viet Hung - Director of the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center - said: The model will be deployed from 2024 on an area of 24 hectares in Hoai Nhon Dong ward and the communes of An Hao, Van Duc, and Tuy Phuoc Dong.
To implement the model, the Center supports 50% of seeds and agricultural materials such as organic fertilizers and biological pesticides; and supports 100% of organic certification costs.

At the same time, closely coordinate with the People's Committees of communes, wards and cooperatives to organize technical training, send professional staff directly to the fields to support farmers in the production process, from seed incubation, soil preparation, sowing, fertilizing, weed and pest control to harvesting and linking product consumption.
Up to now, 6 hectares in Hoai Nhon Dong and An Hao wards have been certified as meeting organic standards; productivity reaches from 5 - 7.8 tons/ha depending on the season.
After 4 seasons of implementing the model, at the end of the Summer-Autumn crop of 2025, 3 hectares of rice of 25 households in Hoai Nhon Dong ward were certified to meet organic standards. Mr. Ngo Dinh Tuy - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee - said: The model brings many benefits when helping people change their habits from using inorganic fertilizers and chemical pesticides to using organic fertilizers and biological pesticides in rice care to create safe products, contributing to protecting the field ecosystem.
Besides, although the rice yield is not higher than the area applying conventional farming techniques before, the product does not contain pesticide residues so it can be sold at a higher price than the market price by 2,000-3,000 VND/kg.
“In summary, the rice yield reached 7.3-7.8 tons/ha/crop, the profit was 16-20 million VND/crop/ha, 30% higher than the control field. Notably, from the rice products participating in the model, the ward recently coordinated with Hoai My Agricultural Cooperative to build OCOP certification and trace the origin of Hoai My White Rice products. This is the motivation for the ward to continue to replicate the model, helping farmers increase product value and income,” Mr. Tuy emphasized.
Mr. Tran Khanh Du (Khanh Trach residential group) shared: My family has 4 sao of rice participating in the model. With the guidance of the staff, I sowed and planted at the right ratio, reduced the use of pesticides and bought cow manure to compost with microorganisms to fertilize the rice fields to reduce costs.
With the above process, the rice plants grow well and are less susceptible to pests and diseases. On average, each crop, I harvest nearly 1.6 tons of rice, selling it at 11,000 VND/kg, earning more than 17 million VND, 6 million VND higher than before joining the model.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong (Dinh Cong residential group) also excitedly said: After 4 production seasons, my family's 5.5 sao of rice participating in the model earned more than 1.7 tons/season. Each season, from 19-21 million VND, 5-6 million VND higher than before participating in the model.
In Van Duc commune, the model "Producing quality rice meeting organic standards linked to product consumption" was deployed for the first crop in mid-2025 (Summer-Autumn 2025) on an area of 3 hectares with the participation of 65 households in Thanh Luong village.
Mr. Le Ngoc Hiep - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee - said: During the implementation process, the staff of the Agricultural Extension Center regularly coordinated with the commune's agricultural staff and An Tin Agricultural Cooperative to provide technical guidance and supervise the use of pesticides and fertilizers in accordance with regulations. Thanks to that, the rice plants grew well and were less susceptible to pests and diseases than in the old production areas.
After harvest, rice was purchased by An Tin Agricultural Cooperative at 12,000 VND/kg, 2,000 VND/kg higher than the market price, with a profit of over 25.3 million VND/ha, nearly 6 million VND/ha higher than the control area.

According to the Agricultural Extension Center, in the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop and the 2026 Summer-Autumn crop, the Center will continue to deploy this model in Van Duc and Tuy Phuoc Dong communes. The replication of the models aims to create a premise for localities to step up propaganda and support farmers to expand the rice production area according to organic standards.
Thereby, gradually changing farming practices towards sustainability, forming the habit of using organic fertilizers and biological pesticides to replace chemical fertilizers and pesticides; contributing to protecting the environment and ecosystem. At the same time, improving the quality and value of local rice, creating safe products for consumers, helping farmers increase their income.
