DNO - On the afternoon of October 29, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang and leaders of departments and branches inspected the actual landslide situation on the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway, the landslide area on DT601 road; gave gifts to encourage households in Hai Van ward who had to evacuate due to landslides and inspected the flooding situation on the Western beltway, the section passing through Hoa Tien commune.

According to the report of Hai Van Ward People's Committee, due to prolonged heavy rain, at Km50+700 - Km50+800 section of the North-South Expressway, East section La Son - Hoa Lien, longitudinal cracks appeared on the road surface, the concrete foundation of the embankment on the negative slope (adjacent to DT601 road) showed signs of cracking, with a high risk of fracture and landslide.

At Km 41, 46, 47, landslides occurred on the positive slope, large quantities of soil and rocks overflowed and covered the road surface, currently making traffic impassable.

On DT601 road through Ta Lang residential area, the roadbed collapsed and the talus slope was eroded, causing cracks along the highway and affecting 7 households living near the area.

All 7 households have been evacuated to a safe place. At Km 40, north of the Black Bridge (Ta Lang residential group), the DT601 roadbed collapsed due to a landslide on the negative slope, posing a danger to road users.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang requested functional units to quickly conduct comprehensive research and select feasible technical solutions to soon and sustainably overcome the landslide situation at the above locations.

At the same time, absolute safety must be ensured for the forces on duty at landslide sites and dangerous areas.

After inspecting the landslide sites, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee visited the temporary residences of 7 households in Ta Lang residential group to inquire about their health, give gifts and encourage people to make efforts to overcome difficulties and ensure the safety of their lives and property.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Hoa Tien commune, heavy rain lasting for many days has caused 21/22 villages of the commune to be completely flooded.

Local authorities mobilized forces and vehicles to be on duty in vulnerable areas to evacuate households to safety; at the same time, assigned forces to be on duty 24/7 to regulate traffic and transport food to support people in areas isolated by floodwaters.
